Someone already said HS390 is just a semester paper but this guy is awful. He knows his stuff but it's obvious that he cares more about research than teaching. Pretty sure he didn't even read the 25p paper I spent all semester working on. He also put lots of assignments on the syllabus then ignored them. I have no idea what to expect for a grade.

This class is just a semester to write a 25 page research paper. If you're just talking to him, he's a great guy and he really wants to help you. However, in class, he doesn't follow his syllabus and doesn't really give you any outlines for what he expects. If you're comfortable with teaching yourself, and independent study, this class works.

Class is easy enough. You watch a ridiculous number of terrible movies. When it comes to the exams, if you read the text you'll be alright. Well, that is aside from his questions that are relative, and are not based in fact. I showed him 2 or 3 questions that he had the wrong answer for on the 3rd exam, but he did not fix them. He is Ridiculous!

Nice guy, but completely unreliable when it comes to responding to email questions and when things go wrong on Educat. He's so monotone and constantly rambles to the point where you just can't listen to the guy anymore. Yes, he knows his stuff, but he presents the material in a way that's just downright boring and unorganized.

Good teacher, incredibly knowledgable. I am enjoying his Michigan History class. Although he does have a tendancy to ramble before getting back on topic, he knows everything about everything. My notes go right along with the text book so if you read it you'll be fine.

This guy is such a joke, that I took his rediculous class, History of the UP, showed up to every session, did all the online work, read the books, and when the grades for summer semester came up I had a D-. I had to call him four of five times and countless e-mails until he finally gave me an A. This guy needs to be forcibly retired. NEVER, EVER TA

Horrible teacher!! Took first two weeks of semester off and never put any announcement online or anything. Never returned my research paper, had to track him down and when he found it on floor of office he scribbled 92% on it without even reading it. This guy is a JOKE!!! Easy A, but don't expect to learn anything!!

Terrible teacher, extremely scatterbrained. Into his research more than the class, doesn't really follow the syllabus, doesn't cover everything on the exams in class so you have to read out the the 8 or so books in order to do well. Even if you like history this class will ruin it for you.

I would not recommend taking a web class from Dr. Magnaghi. He is completely disorganized, unreliable, uncaring and unreachable. He doesn't follow his own syllabus!!
