The subject is pretty dry, and Professor Smith puts in a lot of effort to make sure that we understand the concepts well. He is approachable & very helpful in giving feedback - but you have to ask for it! Midterms, Research Paper, Project Presentation & Finals - all of them count. Do not miss out on his exam review class. A cool, no stress class!

The best class and professor I have seen so far. Class is extremely helpful if you have some experience because you can easily relate to his examples and use his suggestions. Helps you become an effective manager. Exam questions are from previous terms, but take notes in class and that is all you will need to prepare for exams.

One of the best professors in San Jose campus. Very clear in teaching and gives lots of examples. Makes sure that the students understands the basics. Subject is kind of boring, but professor makes the class interesting and gives a balanced view of the techniques taught in class. I wish he teaches 202 also. Overall a great individual !

One of the best professors.Well organized lectures and fair grading.Lectures can get boring at times but thats because of the subject itself.Make sure to take notes in class and note all the examples that he gives.Research paper is most important so keep it original to avoid troubles.Exams are easy.

You don't really have to go to lecture, but I recommend it, because his reasoning when he talks sometimes doesn't match the slides (and will show up on the test). Really nice guy and pretty easy grader. Tests are written, not multiple choice

Marvelous professor!! Excellent class!! Gives right amount of work. Life is easy, classes are fun. I benefited a lot, loads of knowledge and learning. Focuses on giving us the necessary skills. Highly proficient in teaching; I feel very lucky to have got the opportunity to be his student. I wish he taught cmpe202 classes as well.

The subject isn't that exciting. He takes things very slowly and gives a lot of examples in class to make things clear. He is looking for examples in your work / exams so be sure to attend or have plenty of industry experience. Exams are pretty easy if you can understand the project management concepts. Research paper is the most challenging aspect

Professor Smith is one of the best proffs I ever studied. Even writing a research paper is good to expand knowledge domain about software life cycle. Grades are dependent on almost everything - Midterm, Final, Research Paper, Presentation and final observation paper. Although he gave me an A-, I give him an A+.
