Ridiculously difficult teacher. I had the displeasure of doing work study in the Bio lab & was forced to interact w/her even when I was done w/her friggin' class, which was not a joyous thing at all. Difficult to comprehend as well as difficult to get along w/. :/ Perhaps hormone therapy would make her happier....

Brilliant professor. This class takes alot of work, but she is very willing to help and I found that she answered all my questions. Good class for a pre-nursing program student. You'll use this information forever.

save ur money and ur time and stay away from this professor. her lectures are not helpful at all and doesn't cover half the material. doesn't let you ask questions and her study guids are just as long as the textbook and don't even help you with her test if you have of time on your hands and can read the book go 4 it cuz ur gonna be teaching urself

Avoid this class at all costs. I magically survived with a B, but I don't know how. The study guides are HUGE and don't really help much with the tests. The tests don't really go off of her lectures and the book is way too large to read and fully understand. If you have a job, or other classes, kiss you life away...

Ruth wants you to answer questions on your own. If you go to her with a question she will guide you along to find the correct answer, but she would NEVER outright give you the answer. Her quizzes are outrageously hard, you can use all your notes, but they donĂ¢€™t help any.

This class is way too hard. If you have alot of time, as in, your not taking any other classes, and if you don't have a job, take her. You need all the time in the world for this class. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. Do study guides right away. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this class. Youre' better off taking it somewhere else.

Class is very difficult. Her study guides cover far too much and don't cover everything that's on the exams. Entire grade is 3 exams and they cover far more than what is covered in class. Don't take this class unless you want to spend all your time studying for it.

She's not a really good teacher. She talks way too fast and her study guides are too much. She doesn't do reviews for tests and she doesn't cover some of the things during lecture thats gonna be on the test.

Extremelly difficult, yet very rewarding. If you just want to pass the class or get a good grade, go somewhere else. If you want to be forced to learn a ton of information then challenge yourself and work hard- you will not be dissapointed.

This is by far the most difficult class I have taken. I have completed over 60 units at Grossmont and I have a 4.0 GPA, but this class was pure torture! I was able to score an extremely high A in her class, but I had to bust my back side to get it! My best advice is to have a clear understanding of the info before her lecture...Good luck.

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! I think she's paying these other people to say nice things about her teaching style. She makes the subject way harder than it has to be. I dropped early and took it with Dr. Hankanson at cuyamaca. Nearly half his class was hers from previous semester.

BEST ADVICE: DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH A FULL LOAD OR A DEMANDING SIDE JOB. READ AND REREAD ASSIGNED CHAPTERS BEFORE CLASS OR HER LECTURES WILL SEEM LIKE CRAP TO YOU. I LEARNED WAY MORE FROM HER THAN I DID FROM MY BIO/ANATOMY PROFS AT SDSU. SHE HATES STUPID QUESTIONS. YES THERE ARE SUCH THINGS. MAKE SURE TO UNDERSTAND CH'S BEFORE COMING TO CLASS

This class reminded me of the classes I took at Berkeley. Very challenging, but also very rewarding at the end if you make an effort. Her lectures can get confusing at times, but hang in there and review the material. I am in the nursing program at Johns Hopkins and I am already seeing the academic benefits of having taken this class from her.

Idiots, whiners and morons...she'll weed you out right away. She is approachable if you know how to ask an intelligent question. In other words try to think (I know it's hard) and come up with the answer first on your own, then ask. Be prepared to learn a plethora of things about Physio!

This CLASS is a DISASTER!!! i AGREE that the she's a very nice professor and is very helpful but the TEST is VERY HARD!!! I'm barely surviving with a C- and i study A LOT!!! I spent almost all my time on this class just to be on the border line. A SUPER HARD class and would not recomment at all!!

PROF. BOTTEN TEACHES AT A VERY ADVANCED LEVEL, BUT HER LECTURES ARE CLEAR & CONCISE AND SHE'S PLEASANT & HELPFUL. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GET SERIOUS AND WORK REALLY HARD. I'M AN LVN WITH 80+ COMMUNITY COLLEGE UNITS AND A 3.8 GPA. I FOUND THE CLASS THE TOUGHEST I'VE TAKEN & THE MOST INTERESTING.

She's a nice lady and it's obvious that she loves teaching the subject. However, there's very little room for laziness, so "cowboy up," take notes, do the reading, and UTILIZE THE STUDY GUIDES!

Prof. Botten is excellent. Lectures are clear and concise, although at a very advanced level. Recent prior chem/bio knowledge helps. She is pleasant and encouraging. This class is not for whiners or people looking for an easy A, but I'd be willing to bet it helps me throughout my nursing career.
