What an amazing professor. Warm, caring, honest and dead serious. She is so dedicated to teaching, she helped a student in our class craft a formal argument for an extension on our midterm- to herself. And accepted it. She's hard, but give her your all and she will reward you with personalized feedback, fair grades and SO MUCH USEFUL KNOWLEDGE.

Ruth is a wonderful professor who consistently goes out of her way to help her students succeed. The material for this class is dry and difficult majority of the time and she works hard to keep students engaged and provides worksheets and handouts that are great helpers.

I have taken several classes from Dr. Guzley. She is a wonderful person and cares deeply about her students. But, you have to work. You can't just sit there and except a good grade. She excepts you to be engaging and care about your own learning. She will make you a better student if you let her.

I love Ruth! She is really sweet, she just doesn't tolerate distractions in class or people goofing off. She is a great teacher. She is sooo helpful and understanding. She's a tough grader, though. I would recommend her for sure!

I choose Chico based on Ruth's research, which at the time I found interesting (1997). Her lecturing style was a real disappointment. She was inconsistent and had a tendency to confused more than enlighten. I am a better teacher despite her not because of her.

Ohh I pity anyone who has to deal with her. Either as a prof or as the Dept. Chair. She hates students and it shows in everything she does. She is fake, passive aggresive and a total control freak!!!! If I could have one teacher removed from the school this would be the one.

I now have a PhD, and she's still the worst teacher I've ever had. The level of bias is enough to warrant a lawsuit. Your effort in her courses will not determine your grade; rather, she alone determines your grade. The assignments really are outdated and her limited experiences equate to limited examples. She gives tenure a bad name.

Dr. Guzley was my favorite professor at Chico State. I have now graduated and have brought with me everything I've learned from her. She is a tough professor but she cares about her students and wants her students to be challenged. The real world is not easy and she helps prepare students for reality.

This teacher gets her comments removed, even when they are accurate and not defamatory. She focuses on publishing and personal contacts; this hampers her ability to teach students. I was a 4.0 student, and her class is the only non A. She was not clear in her instructions. Regardless of how hard you work, if she doesn't like you, you will fail.

One of the best teachers. You will find that anyone who wants to learn and is willing to work hard to do so, will love her as a teacher. I walked away with so much from the class and can use what I learned when I leave Chico state. Be ready to learn before you take her or you will really struggle.

She's twisted. She said our class had highest score ever on her 1 test then decided to stop teaching us anything, left it all to our reading. Seems she wants us to have low grades. Too tough a grader on essays too!
