Wonderful professor! I loved this class. Attendance is mandatory because he does expand quite a lot on his powerpoint slides (he does post on e-class). The tests were not too hard, but you have to know your stuff. The grade is broken up by attendance, group presentations, a source analysis, midterm, and final, so it's easy to get a good grade.

Comment:

Dr. Dunch was a great history prof. For anyone who wants to be a history major, I would reccommend taking his History 290 class before any others; the work load was intense but the material will give you a nice, well rounded look at what history is all about. Definitely one of the most educationally rewarding classes I took as an undergrad.

Dunch is very fun and interesting. First time he taught the class, so hopefully the workload will be changed, it was CRAZY. I recommend him as a prof, definitely great. But watch out for tons of reading, SEVERAL essays and a 10-15 min presentation. Take home final exam. Don't bother taking the class unless you are a History major. :)

Very nice guy. Interesting lecturer. Knows his stuff. Keep the essay topic simple in this class. Make sure to have your essay tests littered with dates. He likes that.
