She relied heavily on the online portion of the textbook and could not be said to lecture or teach anything. Assignments were rarely critiqued with anything other than grade deductions. The course catalog referenced business documents, and a presentation, but there IS a paper! no direction was given! Follow her formula or give up your grade

DO NOT take this 8 week class online! Unless you are taking just a few classes. She is very strict and you are expected to read. A LOT. The research paper was pretty stressful considering that I haven't written one in a few years. Just be prepared to work! She's nice when you act professionally. Show interest by keeping tabs with her on your work.

Comment:

Dr. Guzman-Trevino's class is college level. You will get an A if you WORK for it. She is very clear with her instructions/expectations. Syllabus & weekly assignment notes are very detailed. Be ready for research papers. I took this class online, but I would've enjoyed it more in person. Exams and assignments are straight out of the book.

I took this class because I needed a literature class to finish my bachelor degree. I didn't check this site out first.(Big mistake). And to make matters even worse I took it online. When grading my work , she cut me to shreds. My major is Nursing and her class was harder than my nursing classes. She barely gave any feedback. Be very afraid.

She is a great professor, and she was extremely organized. Her lectures were always in sync with the syllabus, and she did a superb job explaining the learning material. At times it felt like she reviewed over the material for too long, but I was able to better comprehend the material. She was strict with attendance, tardiness, and grading.

She doesn't help at all! She assigns way too much reading for a small amount of time and tons of homework on top of that. For research paper, couldn't ask for her advice. We were referred out to the writing center or a website. It was like " what are you getting paid for?" She doesn't actually teach us anything. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!

If you like to have teachers who are biased, entitled and don't teach you anything? Then this is the class for you. Two students one white one Hispanic (best friends) same papers almost one gets a C- one an A+.... Get real lady if I can pass your class with an A and never show up, then why do you make us sit through mind numbing classes? Daily HW.

Honestly, her class shouldn't be as hard as she makes it. However most of her directions are very unclear and you don't find out what she wanted until after the assignment has been done. Also, she does annoying daily quizzes. If you can avoid this uppity, standoffish woman, I highly recommend you do. Literally didn't learn anything helpful from her

I had a 93 in her class midway through semester, i told her 2 weeks ahead of time i wouldnt be able to attend class and told her i could email the paper in early to her, however i received 3 zeros for missing this class, i ended up dropping the class. Got 15 points taken off for not campitalizing Tuesday....

Dr Guzman-Trevino is a treasure for Temple College. She is an complete professional, and highly responsible to her students. her information and approach is indispensable to Temple College. I felt lifted to a graduate degree of study in her class. Inspiring! Take her Mex-Am lit class!! I took her class in 2000, so I do not recall the class number

The outcome of taking this class has been by far, the worst experience. She has such a cold heart, uncompromising, & shows no mercy. She is a very hard grader and her tests are crucial!< Which she base end grade on(don't understand why we have HW). I never missed an assignment & still failed her course. My GPA was 3.5 before taking this class.

She is a useless professor. Do not expect to recieve any feedback on the assignments you turn in. in addition, she is very stuck up and snobby in her emails beacause she has Ph. D. Just because you have a fancy title, doesnt mean you become the Queen of England. As a high school student getting my associate's degree she acts like she is above us!!!

A lot of assignments out of textbook but class was fairly easy. Would recommend this class over Comp2. A few major projects and a presentation at the end of the course. Teacher was great with any questions and answered emails in a timely manner.

I took this class throughout summer semester which is challenging enough. It was a lot of work and had to put a lot of time into class but she will absolutely go out of her way to help you if she sees that you are putting in the effort. She may come off as rude but she just doesn't tolerate lazy students. I really enjoyed her class.
