Comment:

The most caring and helpful prof. If you show him that you care and want to learn he will go the extra mile to help you. That said, his classes arent easy. You must really know and understand the material to do well on exams as theyre usually long answer. He knows a ton about plants and the environment, if that interests you its worth it.

Comment:

I regret not being able to take more courses with Dr. Nasserulla. His lectures can be a tad dry, but anybody who can't follow his point of view simply isn't trying. His tests are the most fair I've seen - know the notes and you'll get an A. He wants you to learn, and he's great one-on-one. Absolutely some of the best courses I've ever taken.

VERY lecture heavy. In order to do well on his tests you NEED to pretty much know everything and anything. Does not give reviews for any of his tests. He is difficult to understand in lectures. His notes contain a lot of information but you have enough time to write down everything he is saying. I would not recommend taking his class.

Comment:

Not afraid to call out noisy unruly first years mid lecture. His lectures are dense, they really are. But if you study the material and supplement with the textbook you should do well. Find how you best memorize things, and apply it here, i enjoyed his class for the most part. also, use the buddy system in case of missed lectures.

Not a terrible prof, not a good prof. He's obviously very passionate about what he teaches. Can be rude and standoffish, just don't talk in the front rows during lectures. Make sure to attend lectures to get notes - its easiest if you type them, he goes quickly and his writing is poor. Study for exams, and you'll pass.

Extremely difficult to understand both his speech & his writing. Dry, drones on and holds the class late. Notes are taken straight from textbook. Very unorganized & late with grades (ex. receiving midterm marks online, at the final class before finals with no access to exam). Very irritated by students leaving (even discretely), eating or drinking.

The lectures are fairly dry and at times his accent can be hard to understand. But honestly it's not that bad - he's willing to help you out (seems intimidating but he's not), his exams are fair and his lectures are relatively slow paced. You probably don't need the textbook, but it's nice as a reference if you don't understand something he said

I think it was hard to understand him. It wasn't even his accent I had a problem with, it just looked like he took sections of the textbook and chopped up the sentences. His lectures were very long, with what I would consider is too much information. The midterm was about the textbook, his exam was about his actual notes. Read up!

At first I didn't like him, seemed grumpy and unapproachable but when I needed help he was really nice and more then willing to help me out. Need to listen closely because of the accent but nbd, writes everything he says down. If you are sitting on your phone or making a disturbance he will call you out so just be polite. Ended up really liking him

He's very helpful and straightforward. English is not his first language, not his fault but he still tries his best to teach us well and I think people should understand that and respect him instead of making fun of him. Great prof and I would definitely recommend him. Didn't use the book but still successful. He seems grumpy but he's not.

A great Prof! He is always more than willing to take you into consideration. He will always go out of his way to make sure you understand the material... all you need to do is ask. I have had him as a prof numerous times and I would recommend him to everyone I know. Truly knowledgeable, kind and passionate about his work!
