Average teacher. I'm new with coding & learned a lot but, he moves fast and i sometime get confused. He encourages questions and will help. Homework every week, quizzes are average difficulty. I've learned a lot in Java but don't understand or have memorized some of the skills i have. Strong accent when you first take him. Test very similar to quiz

This is by far one of the best teachers in the computer science department. He provides self-assessments to help students prepare for the tests and quizzes. The codes are not bad, but try first before asking for help. Explains everything in great detail and cares about the success of the students. Awesome teacher and an amazing person.

Good guy. Really hard class but that's just the subject. Dr. Fares is the best in the department in my opinion. Some stuff is vague but with coding you can't really expect to be handed the answers.

Took Fares for both 1301 and 1302. Not good at actually teaching you the material, but will give you what you need to pass the tests most of the time. He often answers questions about his programming assignments in class if you ask him and will knock back the due date if you are having a tough time. It is a tough class, but CS is hard in gerenal.

The concepts themselves may be difficult but Fares is a great professor. EVERYTHING on the test has been gone over in class and in homework. He tries to be as helpful as possible; he puts all in class examples online and even provides review questions online which help immensely. He provides all necessary resources to do well.

Even if you feel you understand the material, even if you make 100s on all the programs, even if you read the book, you will still struggle to pass this class. He is unclear in his lectures. The lectures often don't really help much. The quizzes and tests have material you don't go over in class or he says not to worry about.

Very smart guy and hilarious. Tests are tough, but welcome to the world of Computer Science. People that complain usually are those that don't work hard in the course and expect him to hand them the answers to every question. His accent is not bad at all. Lectures are long but if you listen, you will learn a lot. I enjoyed this class very much.

Dr. Fares is an excellent professor. His tests are hard and he expects you to do a lot of work throughout the semester. He is very helpful if you ask him questions, and I enjoyed his lectures. Definitely one of my favorite professors that I've taken. Go in willing to learn and work hard and you will succeed in this course.

I liked Dr. Fares. He gave good feedback on the homework assignments. His tests and quizzes can be difficult, but if you program well, you can pass by doing the assignments. His tests are split into two parts, a week away from each other. One is an actual programming part and one is usually multiple choice or short answer. He's very willing to help

Dr. Fares is an OK teacher. He's pretty vague about the code hes teaching and if you don't ask questions you wont understand what hes doing. You'll have graded programs due every week. And alot of test and quizzes, which most are pretty difficult. However they're open book. Make sure to go to class every day because he gives extra credit.

He was a good professor. Some say he is hard, but you just have to pay attention in class and pay attention to what you learn from the assignments he gives. His tests and quizzes aren't overly difficult since he lets your use your book and examples covered in class on most of them. However, do not just rely on that fact. Studying is still needed.

Dr. Fares is a good professor. He gives a lot of extra credit for attending class and the tutoring sessions. He may be vagueunclear sometimes but if you read before class you will know exactly what he is talking about. And there are a ton of students in CS who will help you out in a heartbeat.

His accent isn't that bad honestly he just has a hard time understanding your questions. But the tutors can help with questions. Tests/quizzes were generally open book. You can even use the internet on tests or look up code snippets from in-class examples, but tests are timed. The key to doing well is to read the book before he covers it in class.

This professor doesn't help me at all with problems I have, he is obsessed with UML diagrams and writing things on the board and what he rights is never correct because when I try to put it in the computer exactly how he has it I get numerous errors.
