Very interested in her materials and really teaches you how to look at film in a critical way. However she can be very disorganized which is frustrating and her lectures are often repetitive and go off topic. In the end, its an easy A if you show up and take notes.

Nice enough I guess, but extremely disorganized. Lecture notes unavailable online despite saying otherwise. Don't ask her to repeat herself. Ever. She'll tell you to find out from somebody else. Despite disliking music history, I think I might take her film class and see how she teaches a more interesting subject.

This review is a long time coming, but when I took her Film Music class a couple years ago I found it really inspiring. Her knowledge and expterise in this area is evident and astounding. And, yes, while she is disorganized and a little grating at times, she's got a thing or two to teach.

Many people including me hated her in the biginning... but the class gets better and better when you actually start doing what she tells you to do. like CRITICAL THINKING/LISTNING!! Any of her class is very interesting because she relates to philosophy too. (and she bought some donuts for us!)

Although I didn't appreciate for previous three classes I took with Dr. Bick; she is a great teacher in film music. She presents her own research and is very passionate about what she teachers. She used to be very disorganized but has signifigantly improved.

After about 3 weeks in, i lost interest all together because I did not find the lectures useful. I tried to see where the lectures were heading, but after every class began, they soon became misty, lost, and distant from where they once started. She is a brilliant person, but needs to improve on lecture management and better project her thoughts.

She goes off on wild tangents and never explains how everything ties in together. She just speaks about random things, never really explaining what anything is. If one or two people failed the midterm i'd say they need to study...but when almost everyone fails like they did, its cuz the teacher is not explaining things clearly enough.

Bick is very nice/kind person.I read the previous comments and I do find that in the morning she is disorganized,however the second she gets her baring she is an EXCELLENT teacher. She knows her stuff.Everyone should relax & go to class with an open mind.
