I learned a lot from the class but only through the textbook and online assignments. She didn't explain anything well and attempting to follow what she was talking about in the lectures just made me feel like i was getting dumber. My greatest teacher in the course : the textbook.

I had this teacher for ACCT 240 and 242. The main reason i took this class witht his teacher was because all the work was done online. I learned NOTHING from her in class, but learned alot by doing the homework since the computer program gives you the answers for the homework. Shes a hard teacher to keep up with since she talks so fast. good luck!

I absolutely hated this class at first, but when I finally started to catch on, it was a breeze. I could have never went to the class and still gotten a good grade. Everything is done on Homework Manager: the homework, quizzes, and the tests. The tests are straight from the quizzes and homework. I wish she taught 242 cuz I would take her again.

EXTREMELY difficult. For me, it was very difficult figuring out what was going on in that class. Professor Gilfillan didn't exactly explain anything very well, and if you had a question, she usually answered it in a way that made you feel stupid. I failed 4 out of the 5 tests but managed a C because of the homework assignments

Class is very hard and a lot of work in involved. She will tell you from the very first class, you have to read the textbook, take the quizzes, and do the homework manager. She does not take attendence, but sometimes she says exactly what will be on the test. About 15 hours of work went into the class a week, and got an A+ in return

Make sure you read the chapters and do all of the homework and get as many extra credit points as you can. I highlighted the chapters before taking the online tests. Her terms for things gets a little confusing. Make sure you come to class EVERYDAY!

A nice woman but a very hard class. Difficult material. I made it through the class with a C and the only reason I did that well is because I spent 4 hours a week with my outside tutor. She gets sidetracked a lot with sustainability lectures. The class average was, I believe, a low D. Again, tough subject.

Good teacher teaching an awful class. She is unclear at times but probably one of the most helpful teachers at Longwood. If you have a problem, accounting or not, she is willing to go out of her way help. It helps tremendously if you do your homework and read the chapters before class because she moves fast.

Nice person, horrible teacher. VERY unclear about work (which she assigns LOTS of at the last second), talks down to students when they screw up something. I received assigns 1 hr before class often. She is too concerned about the well-being of her students and should lay off of them for mistakes.
