This class is difficult. He acts as if this class is your only class. Although it is difficult, you can pass this class, but it's a lot of work. Form study groups to help you.

The way he teaches is unorganized. He makes you do more work than necessary. He acts like were just taking his class. All of what you read is the majority of the test. He literally overloads you and if your not in a group with other people you might want to be. The rest may come from oldtests/quizs that he has made. Not a clear organized professor.

His class is hard, you have to read A LOT, but it was very interesting, and I learned a lot! The professor was very enthusiastic, and I enjoyed his lectures. If I got the choice, I would take another class with him.

I have never in my life been so rushed and insulted by a professor. I have to had push my family aside and tell them to let me work on reading three books in three weeks and write two papers in the remainder of a two month long class. This class was supposed to be about society and science. All we talked about were monkeys. Even in his humor and fo

By far the worst teacher I have ever had. No textbook, assigned readings ranged anywhere from 400 level science classes to stories about his neighbors. Extreme unorganization. When complained about, takes it out on your grade. I felt offended by him every class, and felt helpless that I couldn't do anything but this concerning my situation. Awful!

I have taken over 100 credit hours of college and this was by far the most appalling class I have ever taken. Teacher makes racial remarks, and has no respect for being unbiased in teaching. Couldn't be more disappointed in a class. Do not take a class from this professor, coming from an all A student with a Biochemistry degree. Worst professor.

Nice man, but his lectures are very far from the information on the quizes. Involves alot of work, but honestly felt like i walked away with nothing. If i think about this class, i think about bamboos. I dont think that is what i should take away from a college course! no matter the major!

What can I say about Sloss...There was no real text book. We never covered any of the material we read. There was zero reinforcement on the testable material. I tried to speak with him several times as a concerned student and was brushed off. I had a 3.4 last semester and B's in my other classes. Sloss knows he is tenured and has little to worry ab

This teacher was horrible. He pretty much talked just about bonobos. He didn't care to help students who were having trouble in his class. He told us that if we failed every quiz that there was no point to do the paper cuz it wouldn't help. when in fact it was like worth 20% of the grade.

This was an extraordinary teacher. I've learned more in 6 weeks than I ever have in any 12 week course. The textbooks were novels, which made it actually interesting and applicable to our lives. He's personable and witty. If you couldn't get a good grade it's because you didn't read or do the work...since when do you expect an A for no work?

I have never used the hate word for anyone and actually meant it. He is a disgrace to IU Southeast. He makes me sick. He does not teach, the only way he engages his students is by insulting him. I hope that no one will have to take his course. He will try to intimidate you, but he is a short, useless professor who cares about not but himself.

This teacher thinks that it is a great thing to fail students. he made the comment at the beginning of the semester that he hasn't had anyone get an A in his class in Years. what the heck this is against the law.

This is the kind of prof you should audit. Interesting class, interesting guy, but his lectures have nothing to do with the tests. I showed up to class, but I'm pretty sure if I hadn't gone to a single lecture I wouldn't have missed a beat grade wise. I would have missed a lot exp. wise, though. Hard class.

I loved this class. It was difficult- a lot of independent learning was involved, but isn't that what college is all about- learning to be an independent thinker? He inspired students to think "outside the box" about social problems involved in medicine. I recommend this instructor for the "mature learner" who is not interested in being spoon fed.

stay away from this teacher. The class average was a 58%. His tests are hard, makes you read out of books and not a text book and lectures do not match readings at all. You are doomed to fail if you take him.
