It's hard to know what will be on the exams. He doesn't explains things well and will sometimes put down students who volunteer to answer questions in class. Avoid taking this class with him if you can.

He very nice to all his students. I like how his exams are predictable, so if you study hard, good grades will be easy to get. It sucks that his exams are multiple choices. It makes it too easy! This is a university! Exam should be written to really test the students.

I'm surprised by his positive reviews. He was thorough on some parts of the course, but on others he was completely useless. It once took almost an hour for him to tell me "Yes, an edge triggered D flip-flop is the same as a pulse triggered one." It is very hard to understand what will be on his exams and the homework does not prepare you well.

Comment:
Absolutely awful. Professor would go off on tangents, fail to do simple examples and would mock students who volunteered to answer but answered incorrectly. Midterms were only 10 multiple choice with no partial credit so if you make a simple mistake, you lose a huge chunk of points. Book was not helpful. Would not recommend.

He is horrible at teaching but does care about his students. It's hard to understand what is going to be on the exams and the textbook doesn't really help at all.

Despite what many people say, Dr. Lee was an effective teacher for Digital Design. He is very passionate in his teaching. His accent isn't as bad as people say it is. This course requires THINKING, so naturally many people dislike his teaching style. If anything, he is TOO THOROUGH. His exams are easy if you pay attention in class.

I'm shocked by his good reviews. When he spent an entire class period on an example, he would often never get around to the answer. He was hard to understand, would ramble about things unrelated to the course, and would get confused about his own examples. Digital Design is important for later classes, so I wish he had actually TAUGHT the material.

He tries to help students and makes sure they understand the crucial parts. When he discovers that students cant solve a problem he can spend a whole class covering step by step just one problem or two till he is sure all got it. However, his expectations are a bit unclear and the book covers way more than appears on the exam.

One day in class he spent 10 minutes writing the address of a website (that had nothing to do with the class) on the chalkboard. That pretty much sums up his teaching style.

He's not so bad. But sometimes lectures feel dead. Do his old exams and should do well on the midterms. Nice guy.

Tests are easy to screw up; be careful. One early mistake on a problem can cost you 20 points on the test. However, he cares and is willing to negotiate. Willing to do what it takes to help you do well in the course.
