Samuel McReynolds is an incredible professor and is ready to invest his time in his students and there to help them with whatever they might need. His courses are tough, but exhilarating, and you have to make sure you contribute to the class discussions. Get ready to wright at least 4-5 papers each one have around 10-15 pages!

Loved this class! He makes you think and not just mindlessly memorize stuff to prepare for exams. Class discussions are helpful (but there are a lot of people that refuse to pay attention). Papers were tedious (6-8 pages w/ a final 12-16 pager) but it's worth it. Take this class for sure.

I had Sam when he first arrived at UNE back in the early 90's. He was just finishing up his doctorate. He's a good guy that holds his students to high expectations. He was always available for assistance, but encouraged you to work for for the grade.

You have to write four 6-8 pages papers and they get ripped to shreds. Then, you get to write a 14-16 page research paper on a topic of your choice and he throws in some pop quizzes. Overall, an entertaining class. But if you hate writing papers or you don't like completely subjective grading, do not take societies of the future.
