Dr. Meek is an incredibly gifted poet, who definitely can teach the craft as well as she can make use of it. I have had her for three creative writing classes, and I cannot say enough good about how much the exercises and assigned readings have improved my writing. I would love to take another three classes taught by Dr. Meek, if I could.

Meek is nice, but this class was much harder than I expected for a gen-ed. If you're an English major, take this. If not - avoid this class like the plague. Expect long paper assignments with vague prompts, and nightly reading that leaves little time to do other homework. There are daily quizzes over the reading so don't expect to be able to skip.

I would not recommend her to teach ever again. Her lectures are boring and you cant gain anything from them. She grades so tough that it is so difficult to actually get a good grade. I strongly recommend finding someone else.

Ok, so I read these reviews going in and still decided to take it. I regret the choice. While she is a nice person, she treats us like children when looking at a world map. Her tests are moderately easy as long as you listen to her exact ideas and examples. Take good notes. She grades essays harsher than her tests. I dont feel I got much out of it

She's very open-minded. The portfolio is the hardest assignment because it's worth the most. Don't get behind on journal entries. It is a fun class since we get to read each other's poems.

Very nice and willing to help you. Discussion based - we had our desks in a circle for class, which encouraged participation and discussion. Not the hardest grader, but not the easiest either. I recommend her.

Just say no. The class was boring. She was monotone. She is a harsh grader. Exams are long. Take another gen ed class. If this is your only option, just take less classes or find another class in a different department while you wait for another Lit class to come.....

Dr. Meek is overall a good professor. Her assignments aren't the funnest, it's always a relief to be done with them. If you just do exactly what she wants and don't do what you've always done, or what you're used to, then you should do well. She will definitely grade you higher if you go to her to talk about your paper during office hours.

Dr. Meek is pretty nice, easy going professo but I found the class kind of boring. The exams are long, but they are not hard as long as you have read the material. She gives daily one question quizzes that are really easy, and can help your grade if your struggling.

Nice professor but grades pretty tough and I don't feel like I walked out of the class with anything. Not a "fun easy gen ed" because she grades hard and you have to keep up in the readings but overall the class is not hard.

She's nice, but a very tough grader. Her writing assignments are vague. You'll come out of the class a much better writer if you put the work into it. You're liable to get a much better grade if you go to her office for help and participate in class discussions.

This class is the most boring class ever. Do not take her, she seems nice but she grades extremely hard and sitting through that class is like being tortured every other day.

Very good teacher. A tough grader, but very helpful if you go to get her input. She can be monotonous at times, but the ENG 101 class itself is pretty boring (not Meek's fault). Just remember that she will make swiss cheese of your arguments, so don't leave any holes!

she is very nice, but a really hard grader. She treats World Lit as if it should be your major therefore you should know all the information. Tests are entirely essay and pretty tough.

She grades very hard, and since the class title is Masterpieces of World Lit, I would like to know who defines what a masterpiece is. It certainly is not "When Rain Clouds Gather" One god thing is that she is very helpful outside of the classroom.

She is a nice person & the class materials were mostly moderatly easy to understand (except for a few stories/poems) but she grades really tough on everything but the weekly quiz. Also if you've trouble understanding poetry you might want to find a teacher less focused on it.
