Comment:

Professor Ringler is such a sweet lady, and she really cares about your success as an artist. She tries to lay the foundation for anyone who wants to continue in the arts, and has such a passion for teaching. She lets you stay after and complete projects as long as the room is empty, and gives great feedback on your work. I highly recommend her!

Drawing 2 is a lot more individual. Lots of projects to do in spare time, as well as a lot of in class figure drawing w/ nude models which is great. A few big projects but you can branch off with your own ideas. Miss 4ish classes and you will have to drop the course. Not as basic as drawing 1. If you show interest & effort in art you will be fine.

Her syllabus is old, and doesn't follow it. The projects were okay, but felt that they were too highschool level. I wasn't challenged, and didn't enjoy her instruction.

Uses a 2 year old, barely legible syllabus, which she doesn't follow anyway. All lessons, I learned in high school and were of no use, but were extremely poorly explained. Flaky at best. Doesn't challenge anyone with skill, or feed personal growth. Lessons jumped around and never did the same thing twice. I refuse to take another class with her.

Drawing I class. Honestly, if you're good at art then she will love you but if not, she can be pretty harsh with comments about your artwork. If you are absent 4 times she WILL drop you. There is a TON of drawing homework along with classwork, I worked really hard+extra credit but still ended up with only a B. Wouldn't recommend unless you love art

Took Drawing 1 with her. She's helpful and encouraging, and covers a lot of material in an efficient way. Provides good instructions, and isn't overbearing like a lot of art teachers. She knows her stuff, and seems genuinely interested in helping people learn.

Sara is a great artist, and like many artists she can be a little confusing at times. I've had a hard time getting her attention sometimes and she definitly wanders around and seems like she's not listening. That said, she knows art and is a very accomplished printmaker if your into art and you don't really need 1 on 1 attention she's great.

Very knowlegable and nice. Really wants people to put effort into their work. Great and fun projects!! Really helps and encourages you toward areas of art only if you are intested. Teaches you many new forms of art. However she is nearly impossible to get her attention and to ask questions.
