All the quizzes were easy if you studied from the textbook. Really enjoyable class had a lot of discussions about the films we viewed and about the techniques being used. Also Professor Markgraf is AMAZING!!!

class was pretty straight forward, take a few notes and watch a movie, but we are only given 5 tests which make up 60% of your grade and they are not that straight forward. also the journals and paper aren't hard but do not wait until the last minute you will crash and burn.

Tests based on objectives in textbook, but there is a copy in the BCC library, not worth buying. Movies mainly in black & white and not the most entertaining. Lots of old movies; two essays assigned, both 4-5 pages relating to the movies. Strict with rules of viewing movies (no eating, large/distracting movements, no phoes, etc.)

great class, easy A and you learn a lot. two papers and very easy short quizzes every other class. she knows her stuff and you will learn a lot about different aspects of cinema. Im so glad i took it, I'm going to try to take her again if i can!! -- you need the book!

Professor Markgraf is incredible. She is a very sweet professor. The pop quizzes are easy as long as you read the book. She does a thorough review of the pop quizzes and if you miss one you can take the final to make up for it and if not you don't have to take a final at all. EASY A!!! :) She is my favorite professor here and I highly recommend her

TAKE PROF. MARKGRAF! i took a class in the fall for intro to cinema and loved it and then took another one of her classes in the spring You learn the interesting parts of film that you wouldn't normally know The movies she picks are awesome and as long as you look over the text/notes then the quizzes are easy! She's great take her class if you can!

Awesome professor. Loves when you speak up about a movie and voice your opinions. Quizes are super easy and the two essays you get are graded on a curve. She also picks really great movies to watch in class, although they are often long.

Prof. Markgraf is very nice and you can tell she enjoys what she teaches. However, she doesn't really lecture, she kind of just rambles and it can get rather boring. It's still a class worth taking.

WARNING if you don't like B&W movies where there is no sound this is not the class for you, overall this class was awesome Proffessor Markgraf is a fair grader and though the 3 essays you have to do can a be bit boring, overall the class is enjoyable and you learn A LOT about movies and its history, and i strongly suggest you buy the book!!!

Took this class online and it was great. She seems like a nice enough professor and really knows what she's talking about when it comes to film. Course was generally easy with 1 test, 2 film responses, and 1 term paper. Grading is fair, but it is basically up to you to make sure you answer the posted discussion questions, and send in work.

very very nice woman and very helpful and intelligent. kind of wacky at times, but it's just bc she's passionate. tests are all easy, but the class kind of drags. she likes to talk a lot. regardless i'd recommend her.

You get like two tests and thats it. BUT because you only get two tests its easy to fail. You are tested on movie dates and director named so its acutally hard to pass, its not just watching movies and having a good time you need to remember little details like the year the director etc so if you take this class remember what I stated

I just LOVE Prof. Markgraf. She is always so enthusiastic about movies and you can tell how much she loves movies. She is funny, easy-going and her class is very interesting. The movies are great and she shows you a great variety. She wants you to do well in her class and gives three easy tests only (NO papers or anything else). Take her!

shes nice, but really boring class, i took a night class this is the first one where i had to stay until 9oclock, the movie we watch were horrible to stay awake in. but its an easy class, if you pay attention and read what she tells you to read.
