This class was perfect for me because I hate writing and there were no papers in this class. There were only three unit tests and no final. I was a very easy class if you do the reading, which can be tedious but class is easy if you do it.

This professor is quirky but not in a good way. In the first few days I thought I was going to enjoy having her as a professor, but I began to dislike her more every day. She has set expectations of how a text should be interrupted. She is NOT open to new ideas, and she says 'interesting' about every other word.

She is a professor you will either love or hate; I am on the latter end of it. She is fairly intelligent about subject matter (although it gets a little bland after awhile), but is slightly arrogant at times. The class was basically all papers, so if you are an adequate writer you can manage. If not, I'd recommend a different professor.

She is extremely erudite and witty, and expects her students to think, not regurgitate. If you had to consult a dictionary to understand the last sentence, maybe her class ain't for you, but I found her positively spellbinding. Your mileage may vary.

Grading in a scale that is of her own making. Way too much weight on tiny grammar mistakes and not enough focus on paper's content. She definitely believes she knows all there is about the subject and will remind you of this often, in grading and in class discussions. Avoid at all costs.

Like others have said: nerdy, but in a really good way. I enjoyed her personality. My only complaint is I was almost afraid to email her or contact her outside of class because she seemed to prefer that we not "bother" her unless absolutely necessary.
