This was the worst class ever. Take it at another college or online. Not helpful at all. Test does not reflect lecture, very confusing .

This was actually one of my favorite professors last quarter. I did not him to be "cocky" or "rude" I thought he was fine, he just wants respect. He is THE funniest professor I have had thus far and that actually made the class more interesting in my opinion. Test are hard. Write down notes + what he says and STUDY STUDY STUDY and you'll do fine

I found Dr Carpenter to be a great teacher and also very funny. The outlines are like a guideline and you MUST take notes on what he says. If you do that and listen, you'll do fine. Read book and study!! The presentation was my only complaint-too strict on topics covered and the outline example was for a totally different class he teaches

Mandatory attendance sucks. He doesn't stand at all. His stories are great, even if he is a bit obsessed with the subject of his doctorate. Get the AmeriPress notes and study with classmates.

Had for Bio I & II accelerated. Only used ameripress notes, which were identical to overheads. Must attend class on time or you are absent. If you study the notes, you will do fine, but he is not helpful. If I asked a question, he treated me like I asked a dumb question. First exam, I asked one question, after that, I never asked another question.

I took Genetics and Ecology with Dr. Carpenter. He's not as hard as everyone makes him out to be, and he's quite nice. I don't know why everyone seems to think he's not nice. If you take good notes in class (copy everything on the overheads), then you should be fine. P.S. There are two errors that I caught in the Ecology Ameripress.

Please, I am telling you as a fellow student to listen....avoid him at ALL costs. He is very disrespectful in his manner of speaking to students and does NOT help the way he "says" he going to . He is the ONLY teacher whose class I EVER dropped . Its a shame Life University actually has this guy representing part of their science department.

This guy is a tough prof. He comes off at first like a fun loving prof. Few problems, class runs late because he tells useless stories, mostly about sex of some organism. He purposely will throw unclear questions on the test. He has no interest in Chiro. and teaches accordingly. Study concepts well, rather than just facts and you should do ok.

Tough class, but great professor. Very thorough and clear lectures. Tests are hard but very fair. You HAVE to know the material to do well on the test, guessing won't work. Class often ran late. Tells lots of funny stories.

Anyone who says he is hard is either stupid or absent all the time. The questions from his test come RIGHT out of the notes and as long as you study them in detail you will get an A like I did. You have to do an oral presentation and take as many advantages as possible to get your stuff to him so he can revise it, he's the one grading you after all

One of the absolute worst professors I have ever had, ever! His exams are meant to trick the students and not assess their knowledge of the subject. Life's Undergraduate Program needs an absolute overhaul. After taking Carpentar's class, I've decided to go elsewhere for my chiropractic education. I'm not impressed in the least.

I'm really sick of all the reviews saying to study and you'll do fine. This man really is a worthless human being. He talks about food and how fat people are ahead of the curve. His tests are full of booby traps. His lectures always run 6 mins late. Life really picks the lowest common denominators for undergrad profs.

His exams are meant to trick students and not access their true ability to grasp the subject matter. You can study your heart out and still find yourself in danger of failing. My experience with him is the precisely why I am choosing to go to elsewhere for my Chiropractic education. I want to go somewhere, where they committed to student success.

I had Dr. Carpenter for Bio 111/112 accelerated. His tests are hard but he tells you that from day one. They're designed to weed out those who don't know the material. He does tell a lot of stories but they're usually pretty entertaining. Go to ALL the lectures, take good notes, study hard and you should be fine.

Difficult class, but not impossible to pass with some hard work and study. He goes off onto useless tangents way too often. But regardless 95% of the material on the tests is right from the overheads he shows every class. You can get copies of the overheads with extra notes from Ameripress for only 20 dollars and then you dont even need the textbook

Spends way too much time on pointless stories. Tests are rediculous. You can attend class everyday & take great notes & you will still feel like most of the test is in a foreign language. If you want to do well, read and understand basics of the material before class. Then take more in depth notes during class. Study every day... and praying helps
