Love the class. I learned more about American History from professor Gyenes than I ever learned in college. He cares about us and helped us become better writers, thinkers, and wanted us to bring questions about history to the class. Take him if you can.

You must take Professor G! Fantastic teacher and great person. I actually liked going to class. A benefit is that he is gorgeous, smart, kind, and very approachable I like to go just to watch him lecture and lead our group discussions. Gives online books and resources so only one small book to buy but puts copies in library too.

Professor G rarely takes attendance but everyone loves to go and it's a night class! Lots of discussion with lecture when needed. Need to read material and do outside class prep and assignments. No tests. Just essays and either a oral history project or Service Learning project. Best professor easily at York

Although i really don't like history professor Gyenes makes it fun. I have him for world histoy 1 this semester and I never skip class. He really helps with his paper feedback, gave rubrics, and always wanted the topics to be understood by us and helped me see the reason for learning history.

If you hate tests and prefer writing papers, this is the teacher for you! The last paper is around 6 pages in length but he is very lenient on grading, just make sure you are thorough. I had him for World History I&II - both are easy 4's if you put in the time. Group projects are used. Lectures include a lot of YouTube and discussion. Take him!

Great professor, but more importantly a great person. He cares about his students, gives great comments on papers and allows you to redo the paper. Makes night classes enjoyable with his story-telling lectures and powerpoints. No tests so do not take him if you do not want to learn to think and write. Essays, projects, group discussion.

Western Civ 2 night class. He is entertaining, but makes student think. Normally the class has lecture and small group document analysis. Some videos are shown too. No motion pictures but does use clips in the lectures. Gives out his powerpoints. No tests: papers, research project, and document work. Only teaches at night-too bad.

I am taking Professor Gyenes currently in World History. He is awesome! We learn about the world not by lecture only but by examing sources. I am a better college thinker and writer because of Dr. Gyenes. No busy work in his class; you will be busy but will enjoy the learning process. Take him.
