Comment:
Professor Hamula's section of Intro to Strategic Communication is the most challenging one at IC. However, he is a very engaging professor who made me enjoy this somewhat one-dimensional course. Beware of the final project! Make sure you choose a group that will work well together because you work with them all semester.

Scott is an awesome professor that knows what he's talking about. The textbook is not mandatory, but I'm sure would help if you're actually going to read it. His tests are a bit difficult as the content he integrates into them is specific & based on real life examples; however, he is helpful & always willing to offer advice.

Bad news: Scott's course is probably the most difficult of the strat comm choices. Good news: You get a really great, hands-on grasp on valuable skills you'll take into your career. Two exams, both easy if you study. The final project is where he gets you. It's hard to find a group you work well with, but that's the key to success.

Professor Hamula is a good professor. Be sure to engage with him in and out of class-it will pay off. The final project is super stressful, but also kind of fun super rewarding. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO START IT! You should plan on trying to meet with him about the project before turning it in, and be prepared to ask specific questions.

Lectures were a bit dry, the examples Scott shows are sometimes interesting. He's usually pretty upbeat, but the course is a bit hectic. Overall, the class wasn't difficult until the final project - start that as soon as possible. Oh, and on top of the final project there's a final exam, so beware of that. Don't be disrespectful and you'll be okay.

He is so full of himself, it's ridiculous. He gets off topic way to easily and cares too much about all of his students sharing their life stories rather than teaching information. The final project was soooo much work for a group of freshmen, especially when only one or two can work Photoshop. Usually a nice guy, but has his mean moments.

Scott was a good lecturer always keeping the presentation light and informative. Occasionally he would be hysterical in class. Final project is a lot of work, but rewarding too. His comments for feedback were usually "yeah" or "huh" with an infliction that made us question what he really thought of it. Overall good professor though, liked the class

He loves the subjects that he teaches! Over does it with the e-mails sometimes, but means well and is always there to help. Some people really don't like Scott, but if you put in effort he will notice. He's one professor in the Park School that you should be on the good side of!

He is eccentric and loves what he does. He is a good teacher who knows a lot about what he teaches. He does get easily sidetracked though and I wouldn't say it's the easiest class but definitely not one of the hardest.

He's a little crazy, but he's pretty funny. Sometimes he's really not clear in what he wants to be done and doesn't give a lot of instructions when it comes to assignments and projects. However, he definitely will help you if you ask. Hardly any assignments, only tests were midterm and final. if you use his studguides you barely need to take notes

He's a really nice guy, gets off topic easily, but really easy to talk to and only teaches the stuff you actually need to know. Pay attention in class and you'll do fine. Almost never assigns homework, and the only tests are the midterm and final.

Really enthusiastic, even though it was a freshman class. Very clear and very honest about your work, which might come off as rude, but i found it helpful. projects aren't weighted very much, even though they take hours and hours to complete. speak up in class, don't be a wall flower and you'll be fine. GREAT TEACHER.

Scott is an overall good professor and nice guy and he knows it. Classes are rarely interesting but he tries his darndest and it shows. His study guides are great and as long as you study you will do well. Be careful with his projects as he is often overly critical after not giving students enough information and clarity.

Pretty good class. Four tests, one BIG group project. Calls it the AdPlan and it will takes a good amount of work. Tests are inconsistent, some are easy, some are harder. Gives you a review sheet, look up all the topics in the book and you should be fine.

Advertising. I definitely agree with the comment below about Scott being bipolar. **** is a good word. He does know about advertising, but you have to think about if you want to take his "jokes" and ramblings about nothing. Scott thinks he's the****. And he's not at all.

I took Advertising w/ Scott and wasn't impressed with him - he just didn't seem to care. But if you take Ad Lab with him, you'll see him come alive and find out how much he cares about teaching and his students. Best college experience, by far.

Seems like you either love or hate Scott, and unfortunatly I dont fall into the liking category. Def. agree with the below comment about him taking out anyone who threatens his dominance. Personally I found him rude and disrespectful.
