He is an amazing person, but he is not the best professor. He struggles to convey what he is doing on the board, but it is evident he is incredibly smart. If you already know the material, then this class won't be too bad. However, if you don't understand you may want to seek outside help.

Dr. Sarra is a great guy. He is really sweet and actually cares about your grade. However, he isn't a good teacher at all. He knows what he is doing, but never explains. I have always gotten A's in math. Got a 25 on my math ACT. Received a C from him (with him curving it up from a D). No homework. No quizzes. Only grades are the 4 hard tests.

terrible teacher. college algebra is a pointless class, but he makes it far too difficult. what he teaches in class is absolutely no help with the tests. hell, half the time he gets the problems wrong himsel

If you know the material and have an idea of how to do it, the class will be easy. If not, you may want to invest in someone who can teach you how to do it. He tends to make a good bit of mistakes in grading, so make sure you go over everything in case you should have a different (almost always better) grade. He will help if you ask, though.

Dr. Sarra is a great guy and if you are willing to visit his office hours, he will help you out a lot. He teaches this course at an advanced level, making it difficult to follow. However, no exams or projects makes for a relaxing, stress-free class (aside from the HUGE homework assignments).

He is a very nice guy. He will help you out when you need it. He goes over each section then gives practice problems. Tests are the only grades which means that you should pay attention and do the practice problems. He gives 10 easy extra credit points on each test.

He is very unclear on what he wants and does not explain himself or the problems well at all! I took a "W" in the class because I was near failing. His tests were about the only grades that counted and they were very hard. I consider myself fair at math and this was very hard.

He is a really nice guy and means well but doesn't explain himself very well. He is super dorky and awkward but is very willing to help you better understand material. His tests are pretty moderately hard, not super easy or hard. If you're not the best at math, I don't highly recommend you take him. Has a hard time getting the information across.

do not take this class with him, he does not teach the material, he just gives you practice problems and then expects you to do well and majority of the time he is wrong when he does the problems on the board

One of the best math teachers I have had. If you show up and do your h/w problems you will do great. He is a very laid back kind of guy. Very helpfull and easy to joke around with.I would recommend him for any math course.

The best mathematics instructor I've had (it's my major.) He knows his stuff and will delay covering new material in order to explain things you don't understand. He taught my numerical analysis class as well, and it went the same way. Take him if you possibly can.

Dr. Sarra was very interested in the topic of study (diff eq). If you have any questions be sure to ask them in class because he will spend all class answering them if that's what it takes. Sometimes his lectures were confusing, but I'm pretty sure it was just the topic at hand. If you have to take Diff Eq or Numerical Analysis, take Sarra.

I did crosswords on Yahoo and surfed Facebook during class. He doesn't teach the material very well and the textbook he chose didn't supplement many of the concepts he went over in class. He gave assignments on things that we hadn't covered in class or that were mentioned in the book. His tests were slightly hard.

He is a very nice guy who really tries to help you. He does have a hard time explaining some things. He does let class out early a lot, and he curves test grades, and an 85 is an A. I got an A and I'm not the best at math...you just have to put forth some effort.

Very intelligent yet has problems dumbing down subject matter. Genuine person who tries to help as much as he can. Tests are fairly simple & multiple choice and CURVED! Homework not requiered. If you want to understand math I don't reccomend his course. If you're lookin' to just get by then go to class, take some notes and you'll be fine.
