By far the best class I ever took at UCSD!!! Yes, he's exteremely arrogant and demanding, but his lectures are fantastic. He explains things so well and makes you REALLY learn ochem. And no matter what other people say, you can get an A in his class if you study. And by the way, he's TOTALLY HOT!

Hot O-chem professor. Class is worth the time, especially if you are considering graduate school. Hard class and he is intimidating. He is nice and helpful only after you've tried it own your own and formulated some specific questions(he hates stupid people or people that don't try).

I took Dr. Sarshar's Chem 140a when he first joined the department. very dedicated to student's learning. He doesn't make good first impressions but you leave his class with a solid understanding of the mechanisms of organic chemistry. Take his class if you want to learn o-chem

Don't believe all the rumors you hear, he will really help you understand o-chem. Great Teacher but extremely demanding. I really learned how to study for the first time in my life. Because of this class, I aced 140C and my DAT. Plus, all my girlfriends agree, he's the hottest Prof on campus.

Honestly, although my grade suffered badly I learned a lot from him. He is hard, he yells a lot if you ask questions. When it comes down to it, he is a great professor. I thought I hated him because of his attitude, but the fact is he deserves to teach because he makes you learn the material.

He was such a hotty that many girls had mini crushes on him, that was until we discovered his personality. He is intimidating, egotistical, and over self-confident. But then again he PhD from Harvard so he is entitled. His class was hard but you learn.

I got a B; would have gotten an A w/ any other prof. Started out with 400 or so students - ended up with 100 or less. He's a jerk, but I learned o-chem so well that I aced anything on the MCAT. Take him to learn, not get a good grade or like him.
