Good Professor. Really cares about the subject. Do the work, and you can make an A. Be prepared to work hard for the A though.

Chandler is on his high horse constantly. Be ready to be belittled and know that you're going to leave there feeling as if you learned nothing. You basically teach yourself how to write a contract and the rules that apply because he is a perfectionist and spends his time doing "scenarios" that are not helpful.

Chandler asks a lot of his students - this class is in no way easy. But the subject is very interesting, and if you put the time in, you'll learn a whole lot and do well.

His interest in the material made it very enjoyable. 4 assignments were helpful in getting practice applying concepts. Willing more than once to work with students who were having trouble or missed an assignment. Grading was also very fair, ranged and accurately reflected the amount of effort I had put into it. Highly recommend.

Extremely intelligent; finds it hard to remember that we are not as smart as him. Read very very carefully and you may be able to follow him in class. This class took a lot of work but I really understood the material at the end of it.

AVOID if possible. One of the most notoriously cruel graders at UHLC, regardless of the class he's teaching. Does NOT grade practice exams b/c he's "just too busy." Clearly not very interested in subject matter besides insurance. Lately he's been giving 10-hour take home exams, and yes, HE EXPECTS YOU TO WORK A FULL TEN HOURS ON THEM!

Comment:
An intelligent guy and his lectures are interesting, if not overwhelming due to the amount of material he covers. The workload is unreasonable: extra long readings, blog entries, case files, etc... This class is at least twice the work of other four hour classes. The final, as he admits, is impossible to finish.

I think that he is a very fair professor. In addition, I do not believe that he has an inflated ego, but if I had graduated from Harvard Law I'm pretty sure no one would be able to be in the same room as me. It's not too tough because you are assigned days to be "on call."

Better than some, worse than some. Generally knows his stuff (but perhaps a bit too focused on economics?). Always well prepared. Not the easiest, but fair.

An enormous, pompus jerk. He is extremely arrogant and has an inflated view of his own importance. He gave a large # of D's and said he would grade on the low end of the curve to counter act teaches that graded on the high end. HORRIBLE

Probably the worst professor I've ever had, and I have two master's degrees and a B.A. Pedantic, confusing, and tries to be 'hip' or 'cute', which does not help matters. Unfortunately, he's now the dean for academics. Thank god I'm graduating.
