Always makes sure you have a weekend to study and wont test right after he covered test material. He gives you extra time to study. Hw is Extra credit. He does his job well. I would take his class again in a heart beat. You must put in the effort to get a good grade. If you dont go to class expect to fail. put in the effort to go to class and pass

Professor Lal is great for this bio course. He really takes his time to teach you things. Even if one student has a question he'll stop and put it into different words so that they can understand. He's great at putting tougher subjects into an understandable concept. Go to lecture and you'll pass easily; if you pay attention.

If you enjoy sitting through long lectures where the professor reads their power points word for word than this guy is for you! Only had four exams and made the online homework 5% extra credit. Really have to study and go to class especially if this is your first college level BIO course!

Exceptional professor! Explains concepts repeatedly until students understand them. Curves every exam and final. Come to class and take notes if you want a high grade. Yes, he posts his lecture online, but some slides are skeletal. Read the book and study hard. A 4.0 is not impossible, approx. 25% of my class passed with a 3.6+.

I didn't get anything higher than a C+ on the 3 exams. The class isn't hard and he's very nice, but there is a lot of material. I got a B on the final because I studied so hard! He curves exams and gives you 5% extra on your final grade if you do 20 chapters of learnsmart. Your grade is made up of 90%exam 10%online labs. Overall he's a nice prof:)

The lectures are not boring and sometimes the class ends early because he's just done speaking. He's kinda funny, too, and he really wants you to be interested in what he's saying. Tests aren't too hard, but definitely read the chapters beforehand and study, use the Connect Login even though it's optional.

He was great and by far my favorite Professor at OU! Easy class IF you study. He is incredibly smart and cares about his students. Do the Connect labs and assignments. They are doable and can really add up to your GPA.

Lal is a good prof. but hard to understand. He's willing to go over any questions that you may have and help you. The book is not needed because you have the privilege of buying a $200 online code with an ebook, but I hated using connect because it was very slow and hard to manage. Overall he's okay. Only grades are lab and exams and he curves them

Very nice guy. However, his accent is heavy and hard to understand at times. All of his PowerPoints are online so class attendance is not mandatory. Exams scores and online labs are the only grades you will receive. No tests or quizzes are given. Overall, a very hard class.

I'm a freshman and Professor Lal is one of my absolutely favorites. I highly suggest going to his lectures. His notes are online but he highlights the main points of what you should remember for his exams (not everything on his notes are required to memorize). I would take him again. Also, I don't recommend getting the textbook. I rarely use it.

He wasn't very clear in lecture sometimes, he wasn't a very good teacher for BIO 111. However, he curved the tests and I ended up with a good grade even though I felt like I didn't learn very much.

Professor Lal is an amazing professor! He is such a nice guy and is always willing to help! Attendance is not mandatory. The tests aren't too bad if you study. If you want to see what you got wrong on your exams, go to his office hours! The final exam was not cumulative which was amazing because there was a lot of information in the course.

He is sometimes hard to understand and often mixes up concepts or words, and so paying attention is key as to realize his mistakes and not get confused by them. Overall, I enjoyed him as a professor. I would use the book as your first resource, and allow him to tell you what you really need to focus on. Take notes and pay attention.

Would highly recommend this professor. Lal is great! Hard to understand at times because of his accent, but if you ask him to repeat what he said he will...exams are easy IF YOU STUDY...don't really need the textbook if you go to lecture. Go to class, study the power points and you will be fine.

Good teacher; material is fun, and his tests are pretty easy if you just go over the material and study guides. He is a little difficult to understand sometimes, but hes usually clear. Book is used as a supplement, NOT a requirement, his ppts are usually much clearer, anyways.

Lal is great. Ignore the book. Just go to class and study the slides. Tough subject matter, but he tells you precisely what to study. Exams are very simple if you've done any preparation at all. You have to really fluff off to do poorly in here. And his lectures are entertaining and hold your attention. I loved this class.
