He expects you to know your calculus. He will not completely work through examples in class and he expects you to work through them in detail on your own. He also wrote the textbook used in all diff eq. courses at UTSA.

I dreaded calculus, but Professor Ahmad made it easy. He explained topics well and always answered questions. Make sure you have a basic understanding of precal and algebra because you will need it to stay on top of this class and Professor Ahmad will assume you already know them. Overall, this class was an easy calculus class.

Not sure why he's had so manDr. Ahmad is a very nice man, but do not take his class unless you intuitively understand Calculus. He doesn't teach the subject so much as discuss it and he likes theory more than application. His course is unstructured and your entire grade is 4 tests, all of which use the most obscure application of the technique.

Professor Ahmad is as patient as it gets - always willing to answer endless questions and solve all most all the problems you run into in your homework, in class. He expects you to know your algebra, so brush up on that if you want to keep up with his class. His grading is fair, and I would highly recommend this class to a cal1 student.

Fantastic professor, he gives you all the tools you need to pass. Do your homework and ask him to work the ones you don't understand-- the tests are over hw questions. Also if you attend class he'll be more likely to push your grade up a few points. Very easy, just do your homework.

Dr. Ahmad is an amazing professor! He carefully covers every detail possible in the material and does not go on if there are any questions about it. Very open to helping all of his students! Exams are even easier than the homework problem, no trick questions, no difficult questions, straight forward as long as you show up and pay attention

Very helpful professor. Carefully covered all the material the class was meant to cover, plus a little bit extra. He has an insane amount of patience. He would do problems until everyone said they understood. Most people in the class seemed to have trouble, but that is due to the difficulty of the material, not any shortcomings of Dr. Ahmad.

He was the WORST professor that I ever had within of my undergraduate and graduate professors. He demonstrated that he takes care of his "favorite" students by giving them unearned grades. I would definitely NOT recommend him to any student.

He's okay. I wouldn't take him again though. But that's because he isn't the one that grades your tests and stuff. He relies on his grader and I hate it when profs do that. The only thing he sees from you is your final at the end. He will add points to your tests sometimes. Diff EQs is a really tough class in the summer and I wouldn't recommend it.

Although Dr. Ahmad is a smart person, he doesn't know how to teach. He changed his syllabus halfway through the semester, his exams don't reflect what is discussed in class, he's not very organized, and can be rude at times. If you plan on taking Dr. Ahmad, make sure you know what you're doing because he thinks everything is obvious. Best of luck

Is there for the student, not the other way around. If you are willing to learn and ask questions, he is willing to go the extra mile with you. Uses own co-authored book that is <30 dollars, and is essentially the notes for the class.

Does a decent job teaching the subject at hand. His quizzes and tests are a mixed bag, you walk out thinking you either got everything right or everything wrong. His policy about his final exam does make it easy to get an A in the class though. I recommend him if you have a strong background in math, or have already taken the course in high school.

I am suprised he even got 2 negative comments. Professor Ahmad is very helpful. I always went to class, yet never studied. I was going to get a C in the class because I never studied for the tests. However, I pulled off an A after the final. If you get an A on the final, you get an A in the class.

Don't take him if you like to ask alot of questions. He has a condescending tone when answering questions. I didn't think his book was helpful. I had to get outside help to do better this class.

Uses his own book.. holds you back because in real life formulas don't look like that. Explains consepts his way and you can't teach yourself because his book is useless. I usually avg a A or B in math and now I am lucky if I get away with a C.

Greatest prof. at UTSA. Really loves his students and cares alot for them. He is great for students who lack math fundamentals, he even will come on the weekends if you need the help. Has his own book which is meant to benefit his students. I would sign up for another one of his courses in a heartbeat.
