Comment:
Dr. Ji seems really nice as a person, but I'm sad to say he is not a good teacher. He goes fast, has a difficult accent to understand, and the material is not intuitive or easy. The textbook doesn't make it any clearer either. Definitely recommend taking someone else if you can if you actually want to learn the material.

The worst professor I've had at UH so far. Could barely get his mic to work and when he did you can barely understand what he's saying. Goes really fast when he teaches so you pretty much have to give your full attention. Ended up stop goingin to class and just watch Professor Leonard on Youtube. Test average is always low, he curve the final high

Having a hard time understanding the material presented. Too quick and covers more than the textbook offers. His test is not in CASA because he makes his own tests. So, the material is a little different than other classes. Also he focuses too much on definition than practical problems.

But in truth, he is a very nice guy and we shouldn't go to harshly on him. He really cares about helping out the students.

He is a nice guy, but it is very hard to understand his lectures. He writes on the board so fast as if he is in fast forward. I think he does this on purpose just because he doesn't want anyone to ask a question to him. He just writes tons of stuff on the board with no explanation.

I have taken two online classes from this professor (because this is the only professor that teaches them) and no help is offered. It is basically an independent study class and money handed to the school. I have emailed the professor for help and the response is "You should know". Some people should not teach.

LOVED this class even though it was online (just reading the text). Imagine a math class where you can explore the subject, write papers about it and get great feedback from your TA on homework and papers. Seriously the best class I have taken at UH.

Study his review. Most his test questions are from reviews plus they're easier. And he curve the final.

Dont even go to lecture, there is no way of understanding what the teacher is saying at all. CASA is the biggest help, because you really dont learn anything in his lecture. Terrible lecture. The guy is speaking some other language when he is trying to teach calculus. Accent is super THICK. You are better off finding another CAL 3 teacher.

This class isn't too bad. But this teacher literally speaks chinese when he teaches. His curves are horrible because he uses a "normal curve" so the ppl with worse grades it the benefit and the ppl in the middle basically get screwed. Take the class and look at old exams really good and youll make an A. Don't attend his lectures.Their a waste

This professor has an accent, writes fast, and do not allow for questions. Just pay attention to his lectures and awesome drawings and you will be fine. Notes are also summarized and posted on blackboard for review :)

He was a good teacher, but sometimes it is hard to keep up with him because he can talk and write fast. His tests are easier than the reviews that he posts. The most challenging exam was the final, but only because it covered the entire material for the semester. I got an A in his class.

Very caring professor. He told you everything you needed to know in his lectures and his drawings were very clear. Easy tests if you do the weekly homework, go to lab, and study the notes. Curves grades at the end of the semester. Overall, Great Professor.

Attend your class and labs everyday. Make sure you understand your notes and you take them down from the class. Highly recommend that you go to the LSS tutoring center at the Social Work Bldg. Really helpful.

he's a really quiet little man with a semi-heavy accent, but he really does care about your grade. teaches everything in detail (and even theories, even though you don't really need them). there was a HUGE curve for my class.

Best Calc teacher I have had so far. Sometimes he is hard to understand, but if anything it kept my attention trying to figure out the last thing he said. He covers everything you need to know, but sometimes goes into it a little too much. Overall excellent.

He is very hard to hear and does not welcome questions from the class. Very little interaction during lecture. The upside is the exams are pretty easy..if you can do the hw, you'll be just fine.
