Comment:

Professor Friedman is a nice woman but is not that great about communicating what she expects for her assignments even though she is a communications professor. She is knowledgeable about what she teaches but I would not personally recommend her freshman seminar unless it is the only one that fits with your schedule.

Comment:

Her classes are always interesting and informative. She can be a tough grader, but is very fair. For journalism courses, you do a small amount of writing. Willing to go halfway to meet the student, in discussion and assignments. Also enjoys multimedia, and the rare hilarious joke or South Park reference.

Comment:

Politics of Science with Professor Friedman: An interesting class with an interesting professor. Class discussions were informative, although the portion after the first exam proved to be much more interesting and easy to follow, being of more current material. Only complaint- she blasphemed Bill Nye once in class. Aside from that, great class! :)

Friedman has a major Napoleon complex I think, she's very uptight. About everything. Likes to assign lots of stupid busy-work, homework, and extra reading. Also keeps a very strict attendance policy, she would make a good elementary school principal, but not much else. Not recommended.

Controversies in Health, Science and Environment: The material's very interesting, but she has the class formatted in a way that she doesn't have to do anything. Talk about useless. Stupid attendance policy, assigns lots of busy work. I'm not impressed. I prefer Gorney by far!
