She spent the entire class quarter focusing on one controversial book. Really boring because she just gives deadlines for assignments and essays. Lots of group assignments. HAVE TO know ALL your classmates names. Tough grader. Attendance points are cut if you miss a day or come late. Wouldn't be taking a class with her in the future for sure.

It was a very difficult class if you want a 4.0. If you just want a 3.9, it's not bad at all. Do multiple drafts of your essays and TAKE THEM TO HER. Ask for her feedback, and she's very helpful and constructive. She was a tough grader, but it really helped me grow as a student and improve my writing. Would definitely take her again.

Not hard, but a terrible teacher. Loves to present her opinions as fact; if you disagree, too bad. Unclear on assignments, once tried to change a word limit from 1300 to 1200 after the fact. Once lost points cause she didn't think I could possibly know about my subject (sci-fi). If that's her view, why teach creative writing? I'd done my research.

Shes unclear with assignments and her dates are constantly mixed up. We don't learn much, we just do group work really. I agree with other people before that have said she's a harsh grader. But compared to High School teachers she is a step up I guess. You also get one point a day for showing up to class.

She expected far too much of her 101 students, and required a very controversial standpoint on an essay that revolved around a controversial book. She based the majority of the class off of the novel. I love to write, but this was less of a 101 class and more of a research/persuasive writing class. Harsh grader, though I did well (sleep deprived)

I got intimidated when first coming to this class. She can be rough and hard to understand at times but tells you clearly what to fix if you did something wrong in your paper. I liked this instructor but feel like i could've done better.
