Professor Shapiro was amazing! She is so intelligent when it comes to writing and literature. She has about 4 essays, which are actually interesting to write about. She gives great feedback and a chance to revise your paper if you didn't receive a good grade. She gives extra credit. All quizzes and tests are open notes/open book. Very sweet lady.

I took Eng101 with her, and now am taking Eng102 with her as well! I loved her class. She taught me a lot about writing, and always gave great feedback. Participation is huge in her class!! Make sure you read what she assigns and you will be fine. Respect is huge for her, and NO CELL PHONES! I loved her and her class! Do the work!

I really liked taking this class with this professor. She is very nice and passionate about discussions in class. There is a lot of essays to write in her class and is a big part of your grade. If you follow the rubric on the essays you can easily get an A. If you do the work, participate, and follow directions you will be ok we good side.

She was incredibly rude to many people in my class. When she asked people's opinions on the story or what we thought was happening she told us we were wrong and it's too easy for us to not be understanding it. Her grading was unfair on some of the papers. has no idea how to use the equipment and wastes at least 20 min each class trying to.

I think she's a really good Professor. She's willing to help you as long as you ask for help. I like her a lot but I think her lectures were hard to follow because they're boring. I wish she made classwork more exciting, otherwise she's a very fair grader and always willing to help her students.

I took this class and really enjoyed it. The homework was easy, it was 90% of the time reading short stories and poems. There were a few quizzes (open notes) throughout the semester and three essays. However, besides that, all you had to do was read and show up to class. She was really nice and I would definitely take another one of her classes.

Comment:

One of the worst professors I've had. She's extremely strict,rude,sarcastic,and bitter. The other day she told two students to stop speaking spanish. She's always speaking lowly of men and I feel bad for the boys in class. I haven't learned anything and I'm good in english courses. It's miserable being in her class. This is a fair warning to all.

She was a very strict professor. She can be rude at times, but as long as you did your work and contributed to the class, she tried to work with you when you had a legitimate reason. She has a good heart, but old school teaching beliefs and methods. She loves the topic, and she commits to doing the best she can. Good teacher :)
