Comment:

Although she has an interesting grading method and can be intimidating in class you can pull off an A by sitting in the front and paying attention during class hours as well as emailing her with questions and going to office hours. I received an A-. I'm pretty sure she uses the whole intimidation method to get students to put in extra effort; it worked for me.

This professor was an absolute nightmare! I do not recommend her for anything, unless she is your only priority. She is the only professor to teach from a book written BY HER. She uses it to teach you the "proper" way to write, but it really felt like it was just her way to write. She wasn't personable at all. Hated her class and dropped it!

Took her for intro to fiction. Very quiet speaker and class was extremely boring. The essays defiantly make you think. Save yourself the time and don't read the novels, just watch the movies and do your essay on that. The final was a pain.

Ok people are really hard on her but she is actually a very intelligent teacher. She is a tough grader but she makes you a better writer. I have no interest in writing but I know I have improved. A lot of people in my class are really disrespectful to her. She's nice if you respect her.

DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE WITH WALSH. Although she if a very knowledgeable and impressive teacher, she assumes that she is the ONLY professor you have. She told my class the first day she does not give A's AT ALL, and even though I got Check +'s on ALL my papers she still gave me a low B b/c she didn't agree with my opinion. Dont take her class!

One of the worst professors ever.It is an argumentative course, you can't argue because she assumes she is always right. She's the republican from hell. this is the worst teacher i have ever had and this class is just a bs class, she will ridicule you until you feel like u belong back in middle school. she acts very unprofessional and will screw you over if you take night classes due to the fact that she asigns numerous out of class presentations to attend.I HATE HER!

If you can help it, don't take her class. Instead of inspiring and motivating her students about writing she constantly tears them down. Her comments are very rude and she personally offended several students in the class. Her grading scale is crazy and always changes. And the final was way to much to possibly finish in 2 hours. EVERYTHING said about Walsh is true. GET OUT! I managed to pull off an A- in her UCWR 110 class, and I don't know how seeing as she told me my reading level was subpar and i needed to go to the writing center. This should be a writing intensive class. I'd hate to think what her writing intensive class is like. DOWN WITH WALSH!!

Assigns a lot of papers and the reading is a bit overkill, but all the books are on spark notes and I never had a problem of getting good grades on the essays. The only problem is her crazy grading scale. I got an 83 on a mid term and still got a C. However, I did end up with a B in the class.

as u can tell by all of the blue sad faces below, this teacher is horrible! she's way too hard! when she edits papers, she just tells you all of the bad points of the papers, (never any good comments) and then when u correct it, she still doesn't give u an A!
