Comment:

Mr. Gotch was a pretty good teacher overall. He is an expert in law (by the way he one of the few professors at DU that actually has a PhD) and can answer almost any legal question. Made the class fun with group activities and projects.

Comment:

He really knows his subject and his lectures and class time are interesting but his tests are terrible. If he speaks about it in class, it's not on the test. He loves to find all the minor points in the textbook. Some of the "correct" test answers contradict the textbook.

SO hard! Uses a lot of huge law lingo. He should understand that not all students in his class are law, and that they are completely clueless about what he is talking about. Quizzes very wordy and hard to understand what the question is asking.

Comment:

Gotch is a good teacher. The class is not really hard but it is a lot of work. Many case study questions every week and a quiz every week. No big tests or papers though. If you keep up with the questions and read the book you should do well.

Nice guy, knows alot about business law, quizes are not too difficult, but you do have to do a lot of case studies, if you put the time in on the case studies and show up to class, get a 75 average on the quizes...you should get an A or a high B in class.

His tests do not accurately reflect that level of student understanding. He assigns work that has not been taught yet and later goes back to explain. He also assigns grades on assignments without explanation....just puts your score without corrections.
