She is the most compassionate teacher and truly gets the message across to you of how important it is to know ASL. She can get upset if you talk, but imagine having a spanish only speaking teacher with kids in her class speaking english and she can't understand. She will teach you how to sign for the real world and is humorous and a joy to watch

Comment:

Sheila was one of the best teachers I have had thus far. Her class requires work, but you will definitely come out with useful information if you put time into it. Go to class, pay attention, and participate when she asks you too. Sheila is funny, and she will love you if you chat with her and put time into her class. Definitely reccommended.

She uses English grammar when she signs and yet she expects you to use ASL grammar. Can be engaging and funny, but I don't think her command of American Sign Language is enough to get her a teaching job.

Sheila isn't the best, but she's definitely not the worst. She speaks in class, which can actually be frustrating. She does play favorites, but it's not hard to be on her good side. Just show an effort in learning, and she'll love you. She hates attitudes. Basically, she's the definition of a "hoot."

sheila is SOOO helpful... just ask her! i had a poor foundation from asl 1&2 and couldn't have graduated without her! if she knows you're trying and you come to class, do your work, she'll have your back and get you through it!

she was a very animated teacher, which gave character to the language, but sometimes she would show up late or forget papers and I bet she has never once read those Deaf community visit papers. Overall a good teacher. Also, the butterfly belt was hot!!!

The only reason people complain about her is because those students are the ones who dont pay attention, dont study and are slow signers. She is the best teacher I've ever had and a motivation to many things. Shes awesome...strict and stubborn, but one of the most awesomem people/teachers I know!
