If you just wanna pass the course then take him, but you will not learn anything at all. Man should retire at this point. I wasted my money on this course because I did not learn a single thing and still got an A.

Dr. Novak is easily the smartest man I've ever met and has a great sense of humor. His lectures are just him telling stories about his life but if you study the practice exams you'll get an A on the tests easy. Also lets you use a page of notes on all tests. Always there for you and very very nice and personable.

At first I was scared by Novak but as the semester went on he is a really nice guy and his class is soooo easy. It has a huge curve with the tests and the final is optional. Hes leaving after this semester though

Dr Novack is awesome! Two tests, optional third test and final. Massive curve. Uses many real world examples to teach. If you listen to what he tells you you will pass the course. Also does not use email.

Not hard. If you show up and use the study guides the class is a breeze. He is a very nice guy with flexible office hours. Helped me a lot when I had trouble getting to class, he worked with me to boost my confidence. Overall his class is not bad at all and I would definitely take it again

Poor, I do not know how this guy still has a teaching job. Did not teach a damn thing about finance. Would be a great class if one was writing his bio with all the BS stories he spouts.

Worst professor at Abington by a mile. Unfortunate for business majors that he is the only one who teaches FIN 301. If you're a finance major heading up to Smeal, you will not be prepared at all. You will learn absolutely nothing. Tells stories that couldn't possibly be true. If you're lazy and don't care about learning, this is the class for you.

Great guy. Knows a lot about the material. Tells a lot of stories and the class can be boring at times. Really easy grader. Doesn't use textbooks at all and kinda teaches from his perspective which confused some students. As long as you take notes and learn what HE wants you to know, this class is an easy A

Hardest class ever taken. He gives lectures that are extremely boring and not very helpful. Almost everyone fails the tests and by drop add half the class drops. Do not buy the book its irrelevant. Pretty much if your nice to him and put in a little effort he lets you slide. Final is optional and NO ONE takes it, he says its really really hard.

Only gives 2 tests that are required to take. Both are very hard. First test I got a 40 something on and on the second I got a 70. I received a B+ for the entire course. You will not need the textbooks so don't waiste your time or money on them. Get a 70 or higher on one of the first 2 tests and you'll do fine. Class recommended.

Dr. Novack is by far the coolest professor I've had at PSU. He is nice, but doesn't tolerate slacking or messing around. He is almost always available for help. His lectures and tests/projects focus more on real-world experience rather than course material, but at times can be vague and ambiguous. Absolutely recommended.

Failed his test with a 68 and got a B for the semester. Not easy to understand, tests are ridiculous. If you're a girl, he'll love you. Talk to him if you're not doing well, he'll help you, even though it's still unclear.

Nice and funny guy essay test format just have to take 2 test doesn't require you to take the 3rd one unless you want to or need to his test are essay format doesn't require you to buy the book and tells you what you need to know for the tests just search up what he say on the internet and you should get at least a B in the class

Class consists of 3 case studies, and 2 take-home exams. He will drop your lowest exam score and case score. Nice professor, but wouldn't recommend for serious ACCTG majors.
