He shouldn't be allowed to teach anymore. The man is at least 85 years old, and can't work the microphone. Honestly, drop the class and get a new section.

He really does seem like a nice guy, But he should have stopped teaching 20 years ago. Can't seem to make the mic work and that's obviously very important in a large class. The exams are ridiculous. Way harder than they need to be. I'm having trouble and I took an equivalent class already. Get out now.

This is my second time around taking Chem, and I got stuck with the hardest teacher possible the first time. Shore was like a god sent, his tests are ridiculously easy. However if you dont want to learn about Vietnam, Uboats, and life in the 20s, you shouldn't go to lecture.A good TA is necessary, because I'm 89% Posative Shore invented the wheel.

I tried to get through it, but withdrew 4 weeks in. Shore has LOTS of trouble with the technology of the classroom, which is paramount when teaching 350+ at once. He often mixes himself up is his own notes and has to backtrack to correct himself. If you depend on a clear lecturer to understand course material, trust me, do not schedule Dr. Shore.

I feel bad saying this about Sheldon, because he is a nice old man, but to put it simply, he is the main reason why I am no longer a Pre-med student, his poor teaching in this introductory course put me way behind all of the other chemistry classes which subsequently led to me failing further chemistry courses. Awful teacher, nice man.

Lecture is a waste of time, just read the book at home. Hopefully you'll get a good TA who can explain things, because concepts just seem more confusing in lecture.

Poor Dr. Shore. Really, I'm sure he was good at Chemistry back in the '80s or something, but now...he's just too old to be teaching. He constantly spells words wrong (leaves out letters, etc.). It took him three or four tries to spell "oxygen." His midterms and exams are nearly impossible. Try another professor if you'd like to actually learn Chem.

I recommend this class to anyone who has taken AP Chem in HS or can teach themselves. If not, get out of the class NOW. Funny guy at times, but really a bitter old man at heart. Be prepared that if he tells you something is or isn't on the test the truth is probably the opposite. No curve unless you practically fail the class.

Not interested in teaching the class. Find a different professor before it's too late. Has some funny moments but if you're looking to learn the materail lecture is a waste of time. (you might as well just read the book because that's what his lecture is.)

He can tell good stories every once in awhile (why he carries a Bible in his coat pocket is a good one...), but for the teaching aspect? He can get a point across if he can get the microphone to work (poor guy is technologically impaired) and if he writes and spells correctly. Just be sure to read the book.
