Comment:

She does mean well and has great passion in her work, but can't teach well. She get lost in their lectures, often rambles and then has to rush though a lecture/carry it on the next day. Shes disorganized and give short-term notice for deadline/course changes. Can't answer questions and doesn't understand why students misunderstand her.

I truly believe Dr. Arnott means well. With that being said, her section of the course was not taught well and was not an accurate understanding of student understanding. She got lost in her lectures often and did not respond to e-mails... very frustrating...

She got lost and rambles often during lectures. She seemed very passionate but also didn't know too much about some of the topics we were covering. Midterms were INSANE. The first midterm was all short answer and the class average was a 52. She blamed us for not trying hard enough. Didn't have office hours and didn't reply to emails.

She means well, sometimes gets off track, but is a good prof. She teaches you what you need to know and is very funny. However, this course had mandatory discussions every Friday that were a real pain. She also focused really heavily on zooplankton, instead of the whole aquatic ecosystem

Her pace for the class is relaxed, go with the flow, which is nice because the important topics are emphasized and (overall) you end up needing to memorize less material. Sometimes needed to reinforce more difficult ideas by reading the textbook, but she was good at making class discussions and at answering questions/being approachable

The prof is nice but the way the course is setup is terrible. Talk about too much info too fast! The exam was ok but not enough time was given. The labs are useless and you wont learn anything from them. Most people left labs early.

horrible prof. actually a nice person outside of school, but does not know how to teach. exams were WAY too long. ecology classes, actually any class, tends not to benefit from 50min midterms that are longer then a final. very scattered, rushed lectures - seems to have trouble figuring out just how long it will take her to get though a lecture

The exam was great....very fair, no tricks. Her lecture style is a little scattered, but her notes were good. If you can pay attention in class, I found her passion for the subject was enough to overcome the scatteredness, and I got a lot out of the lectures. Really stimulated my interest in the subject!
