Yeah, she favors people who speak up because it's a discussion course. But if you participate a lil bit and just talk to her, you're good. take worthy notes on the reading and you'll breeze through the exam but, again, they are tricky. She's a sweetheart tho, show that you're making an effort and you'll be rewarded!

Prof. Hollis is very kind but sometimes gets off topic. She encourages students to discuss topics. Her (4)tests are openbook and very tricky! You can drop your lowest score and there is a paper/presentaion. The class was interesting and if you go you should do well.

This class really isn't bad. She def. does favor certain people, especially the ones who speak up. All the test are on notes from the book, but the questions she asks don't really have to do with the book. She's a nice lady but not a good professor.

Omg class is a waste of time...its like a debate class and its worthless..Shes a very sweet lasy but she dosent teach..ALot of reading and u have to take your own notes. Tests are hard but open notebook...I dont reccommend her..shes a sweet lady though

She is very hard granted all tests are open notes, you really have to take notes on everything in every chapter, she takes the smallest details on every page and tests you on them! Thought it was going to be easy really was not! The only easy thing is the paper and the oral! However she is a nice lady!

She's a nice lady, but she doesn't really teach the subject matter. She gives open note exams but doesn't let you know what to take notes on, doesn't lecture on whats going to be on the exams. She's really good about late stuff if you have a good reason. Same with attendance.

She's nice, but not a fair grader. Tests are open notes, BUT she doesn't let us know whats gonna be on the tests so you never know what to take notes on. Lectures aren't even on the tests. I thought this class would be an easy A, but its not, at least not with Hollis.

She's not a bad teacher. She's pretty understanding with stuff--attendance is important but as long as you explain to her why you weren't in class, she's pretty lenient. She's also that way with papers and stuff, but again, only if you have a realy good reason. Open note tests, but it doesnt help.

I absolutely loved this class. I had it at 9:10 MWF and i really did want to get up to go to her class. So easy, open-note tests and one presentation, do the readings and answer questions in class and she will LOVE you.
