Professor S. Yanovich did not seem bad. Online classes is slightly different then in campus. To say the least you ask for help she wont really provide she stated to " follow the syllabus" especially when i was out on vacation and the lights were not working & signal wasn't great for wifi. I asked if i can make up a test, req denied. OTT OKAY Teach.

Definitely not a natural teacher, seems to resent students asking questions. Extremely rude at times and arrogant. I have no idea why she is in the position she is in, it seems like she hates teaching and hates the learning process. Do not take her, she will do anything to give you bad grade, doesnt matter if your program runs perfect.

She's strict indeed which I have no problem with but sometimes with no logic. I had her for C++ and the course itself isn't difficult but she definitely made it more difficult than it could have been. She expects your ALL and stresses on attendance. Advice: take some programming courses if you haven't already before taking her.

Mrs. Yanovich is a VERY strict teacher. I would not take her class unless you are absolutely able to give it 100% because she really won't accept anything less. If you are able to get past this, she is a very good teacher who can teach you a LOT about the industry. I like how she stresses the importance of networking.

To pass this class you must never miss any class or homework. She will accept no excuses for any reason and you are dropped a letter grade if you miss. Always have your assignment printed before class, sometimes she turns off the printer. She is difficult in the beginning to make people drop her course. Good job connections if you do well.

I took this C++ class online to learn how to program in C++, but was just basically thrown a set of instructions with no help what so ever! You lose points for things you don't even know were possible to lose points for. She offers no help, no instruction just feeds you to the wolves on every assignment. Only 3 of 30 students passed this class!

worst teacher. she doesn't teach any of the content on the final and kind shrugs it off telling everyone to google it. she justifies this to herself by actually saying that her students will gain valuable googling skills... lol I'm here for C++ skills, teach the content yourself. also, she teaches programming from a 20 year-old txt book. 010 class

Awful teacher in terms of grading. If you're 1 minute late to class, she won't accept your homework. Every missed homework is a dropped letter grade. On the final project, she doesn't tell you how to do 75% of the content. She even acknowledges that she didn't teach it and says to use Google. She won't take questions. Would not recommend at all.

She understands what she teaches, and tries to push through as much material as she can, but the fact that the class is using a text from 1997 means that any code from the book doesn't use current conventions, so you are relying on her and the text for answers, as Googling anything will not be applicable to the class.

She knows her stuff, but uses outdated standards. We used the C++ 98 standard, and used a IDE from 1999. She offers little help when needed, and is not commadating to outside issues, such as children doctors appts. and such. She is very got headed, and arrogant. Recommend taking any CIS / CS with out her.

If you miss even one homework assignment, you get dropped a letter grade for the course. Every assignment must be an 85 or better or it counts as a zero. Be prepared to dedicate a ridiculous amount of time to this class. Plus, she's mean on top of it all!

Took this class in Fall 2011, Did well the entire class then when I had trouble with a single assignment? BAM! Grade went right down to a D and she failed me without reasoning. Unless your aware of the online class programing that they change very year, don't take this class. No empathy what so ever. I felt the anger in her e-mails as well.

Not helpful when asking about homework assignments. Way too complicated for such an introductory class. Cold personality. Wish I didn't have to take more classes with her.

My Yanovich is a very strict teacher, however she genuinely wants her students to do well. I get along with her very well, however if you're on her bad side I feel sorry for you. In my opinion she does a very good job as head of the dept and puts a lot of time into it. If you put effort into the class you'll do well.

She freaks out way too much, ive had her for several classes and she often just randomly flips out. She does play favorites a bit, i was on her good side. She will help you though and she definitely cares a lot and will do a ton for students, even if she tells you she wont help(she always does though). one can learn a lot from her.

Had her for C++. At first, she seems very strict and mean, but the students need to realize she's strict with a purpose. She wants you to come to class to learn. She is very easy with grades in the beginning but expects to see improvement. I loved this teacher. Very friendly and helpful if people ask for it.

Unhelpful. Mean. Makes me want to change my major since she's the head of the dept. From reading these comments it seems like she USED to be a great teacher, I don't know what happened to that.

Mrs. Yanovich is the best professor I have ever had. She is extremely helpful to those students who want the help and actually want to be in school. If you are lazy or do not care about your education, then you wont like her because she can be tough but come on people this is college, its not supposed to be a breeze you are supposed to work. She do
