Be sure to actually GO to class (he takes attendance every day) and take good notes. You must understand the material to do well on tests, so studying is necessary. He is a great guy and really smart. Lectures are old-school in the sense that he talks the whole time...just pay attention, do APLIA and you'll be absolutely fine

I don't understand why people struggle with his classes and balme it on him .Just sit on your asses and do the reading - maybe then you would be able to do the homeworks and the tests. Although Koont is a little bit boring when he speaks, he explains his stuff pretty well and he makes some jokes every once in a while that are not that bad.

Really not that bad. If you are a reasonably intelligent person then you have nothing to fear. If you clock in at an IQ of 80 or less you might agree with these other people's comments. Koont is not a terrible teacher, he's average at worst.

his lectures are very vague & his tests, though multiple choice, are tricky & you have to pay close attention to the questions. Also his syllabus does not include any of the homeworks. He's honestly the worst professor i've encountered @ Dickinson.

So his thick accent is not very helpful, he is completely useless outside of class and had a poor choice of text. However, he does cover the material thoroughly enough that if you put in the work, you'll be fine. And he is at least willing to negotiate if you have outside problems, like sickness.
