If you treat his class with interest, respect and initiative, then he will return that respect. If you blow of the class and do not work for your grade, do not expect simpathy. Dr. Bagchi is not always kind, but he is a good teacher if you are actually interested in learning. Pity that so few meet him half way.

I have taken a class and graded papers for bagchi. Any fault to his teaching is the laziness of the students. His classes are not underwater basket weaving they are advanced math classes. As Such they take more effort that showing up 40% of the time.

Single worst professor I've ever had. Refused to curve a test grade (after making it the same day) that the students averaged a 50% on. Horrible lecturer and incredibly unclear about assignments. DO NOT TAKE HIS COURSES.
