If you're wanting to take a social psychology course then this is not the one. Be prepared for 70% U.S. History, 20% personal unrelated stories, and 10% social psychology which mostly comes from the assigned text.

If you want an easy A, this class is not for you. If you want to learn a lot and take the best professor at App then this class IS for you. His test is 50% from the lecture and 50% from outside reading which you HAVE to do if you want to pass but it is all interesting material so if you like psych, it shouldn't feel like punishment. Great soul.

Hardest tests ever! Learn to memorize definitions and familiarize your self with SPSS!!!!!!! Experiments are not hard and 2 of them are done outside class with a group.

He is one of the worst professors I have had. His class is 2.5 hours long, and he will talk about himself and his own research for most of that time. I have learned nothing about social psych from him. We had a separate reading book that has great information, but he does not discuss this in class, and 90% of the test questions come from here.

I had him for social psych and it was a very boring class. The material isn't relevant and he goes off on tangents. The tests are hard and based on a book we never discuss and and 2% is from lecture. Good news, the class is graded on a bell curve so you just have to be better than the people in the class. He is a nice guy overall though!

Skip is one of my favorite professors. He cares for his students as long as you show some sort of care for his class. He goes off on a lot of tangents during class and is not typically clear on what he wants, but if you go to his office and ask for help, he will work with you. Doesn't always see his emails, so email him a couple times!

Don't sleep on this class, Skip wants you to provide yourself with the necessary tools to do well in his class. Read the textbook, research the long lists of topics that he wants you to read, and be intuitive about what essay questions he'll be more likely to use during his tests. Recognize this is a capstone, so put in the effort and good luck.

Dr. Beck is an insightful guy. He makes you work for your grades and do not underestimate the value of his syllabus or the difficulty of his tests. He truly wants you to care about the subjectfield and does a great job pumping you up to be a part of it, but he expects you to bring your best effort. Sign up if you want to better yourself

He's brilliant, but is full of himself. Will not provide assistance with multiple choice portion of his tests and simply paves the way for you to research his essay question section of his tests. Be prepared

Dr. Beck really is a great guy and is very funny, but his class is too confusing. Most classes he will tell stories which are very interesting but have little to nothing to do with subject matter. We rarely get past 1-2 slides. He has very confusing expectations on test essays and flat out does not teach anything for the multiple choice section.

Effective instructor! You MUST read the book and LISTEN during class. This class is challenging, but if you put the work in, you'll definitely do well. Skip has great stories and can run off on tangents, but he always arrives at the point.. most of the time 20 min later. Chances are, test questions will be from these exhaustive points. so LISTEN!

Skipper's a great guy and really cares about his students. It wasn't an awful class, but some of the material wasn't relevant AT ALL to psychology and he tests you on it. Read the book because the multiple choice comes straight from there and then you write a 3-5 page essay on his lectures for the exams. His laugh is worth the price of tuition.

Great guy, very very funny. Will tell stories that are pertinent to the material you are learning. If you take notes and read the chapters in the book as he tells you, you will receive at least a B. He's very approachable and understandable.

He gets off on tangents a lot and sometimes it takes an entire class period for him to go over one slide. His test are terrible! You have to write a 3-5 page essay based on his lectures..you never know which one he'll chose from. You have to read material on your own for the mult. choice part which is hard b/c you dont know what to focus on!

It can go either way with him. He is interesting and knows his facts, but often times he gets distracted and talks about everything except psych. His tests are unreasonably short, so little room for mistakes, if you are bad at test taking. His does have a 12 point scale though, which is great! If you take him prepare for craziness.

Doesnt teach the material he is suppose to in class. Tells stories instead. If you take the class really wanting to learn something then this class is NOT for you. Grades essays heavily!!
