This class is a work in progress. The first half is centered around really defining artificial intelligence. The second half is a survey of what's going on at the edges of the field. It gets pretty dense and mathematical so it is not for the faint of heart. Dr. M is very easy going, however, and where his lectures are long, they're helpful.

He's easy to understand, grades fair, willing to help and answer questions inside and out of class. He curves, usually drops the lowest homework and test and you can go over the homework with him. Study ahead and in depth in the algorithms part of the class as it becomes harder to understand/do.

He's one of my favorite profs. Ask questions, he'll answer. He curves and loves to see the students do well. He's willing to negociate (cheat sheets, dropped exams etc). Sometimes hard to follow but nothing out of the ordinary. His class always becomes more difficult the second half of the semester. So study your hardest then.

So, he's a good professor. The course material is boring for him and it shows but keep in mind this is a foundation course. Exams reflect what's in lecture AND in text. You have to read the text. If you think all it takes to be in school is to go to lecture then you should find an easier major, I suggest travel and tourism, I hear it's simple..

One of the most boring professor's ever. Lectures over horrible, incomprehensible and incomplete PowerPoint slides. Never gives examples of anything, he just rambles on about some general theory of the topic. His tests have nothing to do with the material, it's whether or not you can mathematically derive random eq's. Learned nothing from the class
