Take it from someone who has had 1 on 1's with this prof... Extremely rude, believes she is better than everyone else, unwilling to help (says shes too busy to help), condescending... you name it. She is out to kill your grade, and is not afraid to give you a 50 on an exam if it doesn't "look" the way she wants, even if the work is all correct

Comment:
Gives fairly simple and straightforward assignments and exams. She's nitpicky when it comes to grading, seeming to care more about specific notation and showing all steps in a problem than an actual demonstration of conceptual understanding. She's condescending when asked questions and her solution sets are messy and have many errors.

An amazing teacher, explains all concepts extremely thoroughly and clearly, but often misunderstands students' questions during class. Very helpful outside of class. Can be painstakingly particular about fine details when grading tests, and can sound like she's being demeaning but means well. Very sweet and funny, and gets to know students' names.

She can be a very nice professor, but also can be very condescending. I spent more time on assignments for this one credit lab than I did for 4 credit courses I was taking at the same time. Time consuming and difficult assignments. Tough grading. If there is an option for a different lab professor, my advice would be to choose the other.

No doubt the course is not easy but Nunes' lectures are very informative and clear cut. She grades test fairly but with physics there is much work to include and if critical steps are not written down you will be penalized. Overall, a wonderful professor who is very organized and knows what she is doing.

This was the most difficult lab professor I've ever had. She expects so much from us in an into physics class that is only worth 1 credit. Everything is always wrong no matter how hard you try or how many corrections you make. Worst. Professor. Ever.

Very hard professor. She tends to make exams tough and confusing, and the often blames the students for their bad grades. Of course we have to study, it's college, but when you study practically every free moment you have and still only pull off a grade in the 50s, and so does almost everyone else, it's clearly not the students.

She is an incredible professor. Although her class is NOT easy, she makes the material interesting, and she has a way with explaining complicated subjects that I have not found any of the other physics professors have. She truly cares about how you do in her class, and she really wants to see you learn a lot from it!!

Tough teacher. She knows what she is talking about but you must cite every formula you ever use on homework and exams. She will help, but she doesn't always understand what you're asking. She is nice, but she doesn't take fooling around well. Do not mess around if you are in her class.

It's a tough class, no doubt there. Mechanics is a lot like physics 1 but with air resistance and it's hard to grasp this concept when the textbook isn't...outstanding. You have to cite every formula you use in her class on homework, AND exams. If you read and study you should be okay, but even so, it's still difficult and you have to study 24/7

Lectures can be pretty boring sometimes, but if you do the homework and study the material, her tests are pretty easy. She doesn't put any trick questions on or anything. And our class' final was a piece of cake. Definitely a good teacher.

Nunes is a challenging professor who doesn't make class fun, but rather informative. She's a great resource if you visit her during her office hours or even ask questions after class. Yes, she's detailed oriented and her half-point grading system is a little weird but she cares about her students. Attend class, do the work, and ask questions.

She really knows what she does but she makes physics and classes sooooo boring that you end up wanting to kill yourself after every class. She pays attention to many details not very important instead of more general and important physics basics.

Nunes is very pompous and arrogant when it comes to her class. She seems to feel that she is better then her students since she knows what she is teaching and we are students learning. With this attitude, she feels to be very stand offish.

Great teacher! She is really dedicated to teaching. Very accommodating with office hour appointments. Very organized and very clear. Extremely fair grader. Returns grades quickly. Uses Blackboard a lot which is great. Review sheets are GREAT--gives lots of formulas and you can use an index card on the exams. Engaging teacher with not so engaging material.
