Unless you have big **** do not take his class. He is a huge jerk and he gets off by treating others like cow sh*t. He is unfair in his grading and he uses his power over your grade to make you feel about an inch tall! He is gone from ECU now and he left like a COWARD!! As long as you do your work and make an effort, he is a great teacher. Of course, if you start missing class and slacking off, you aren't going to like him. I found him very nice and always ready to help re-explain anything we didn't get. I learned a lot in his class and I'd advise anyone interested in photography to take his class.

Stan is a great teacher, if you are bright enough to keep up. He doesn't dumb it down, which doesn't appeal to everyone. He really knows his stuff. If you want to learn photography or journalistic writing, he's the best. His classes are challenging, but I learned more in his classes than any others in the department.

He is an arrogant jerk and loves to humiliate people. He may know how to do photography but that doesn't mean he knows how to teach it, because he doesn't. He talks above everyones head and explains things really fast and expects you to know what he's talking about. And if you don't and ask a question he makes you feel stupid in front of everyone.
