Comment:
Hes very passionate about what he teaches but overall he is not helpful at all. He does not explain what most of the material even means during lectures and often gets sidetracked. His power points provide very little information. He isnt flexible with office hours and sometimes is never in his office during his actual hours.

When you ask questions he makes you feel like an idiot for asking them. I am basically being taught the course by jim conklin in the math help room tuesday afternoons.

Firstly, he's a very nice man and means well. Obviously he cares about the subject and tries to teach his students. That being said, he is very little help outside of class. He shows examples that are not pertinent to the quizzes or exams and is sometimes unable to connect with students' troubles with the material. A nice man but not too helpful.

I enjoyed the class, even though it was boring at times. Stan really loves the subject and enjoys teaching about it. He would answer questions in ways that gave us many different examples to look at. Tests are confusing but not too difficult. Overall, I think is a good professor.

Stan's a genuine guy, but very scattered in his thoughts. The key to getting through this course is taking advantage of "Sticky points" and joining a study group that goes through the quizes and homework. Quizes are 10 times easier than tests, so aim high on quizes to overcompensate for the exams!

absolutely the most painfully boring class I have had yet... fairly easy, fulfills math requirement, but truly awful. Seltzer is smart, but can't come down to the level of the students. Terrible explainations, unable to answer questions. a feeling of pointlessness.

Stan was a great guy. He wanted to hard for us to understand the stuff he was throwing at us, but he might as well have been speaking in riddles. The man is about as clear as a brick wall. Funny, funny man though.

Pay some attention and you'll be fine, and if you dont know some concept, he always answers questions during class. Kind of a dorky guy and his jokes are sometimes beyond corny, but oh so funny. He gets a bad rap.
