When taking a class with Owings, she will expect you to read her mind. She assumes everyone has the same intuition as she does, and if you deviate evenly slightly you are wrong. Everything must be done exactly as she does them or you will lose a lot of points. She will provide false information, don't dispute it, it will cost you.

She contradicts the book, takes a long time to make simple points. She assumes too much with questions and also seems to be sensitive leading to not answering your questions and arguing with you over ideas you have not formed. She seemed disorganized because of being late for class, and leaving to get materials. not good with time management.

A most brilliant erudite. Her research is stellar. Furthermore, she has a passion for getting her students to that "AHA!" moment, which is a priceless trait. Be respectful and willing to learn and you will not be disappointed.

VERY serious. Has no personality. Doesn't even say Good Morning or anything--starts the class cold and to the point. Gets her point across, but you'll have better luck understanding after reading the book. Very challenging course and teacher. Wouldn't take her again.
