She was terrible at explaining the things she was talking about She definitely didn't make you feel welcomed in her office hours She put students down behind their back when they left early or asked questions that she felt threatened by If you want a professor who is personable don't take her. I eventually stopped going to her class She's a gemini

Lectures were always engaging, but everything on the tests came straight from her lectures. Nothing from the book, other than the online homework which never translated over onto the tests. Really enjoyed this class, BIO101 is good for a gened.

She makes lecture fun and is passionate about her subject. She wants to help you you need extra help and tells the class that. This is my second class with her and I would take yet another class with her if I needed it.

Matlock has been my favorite professor! If you struggle with any topic just go talk to her and she will help you out. Just pay attention during class and do the assignments and you will do great.

Prepare to push yourself. You get a study guide and some power points. Is is on you to find all the terms for human, and usually cat. The online cadaver program is ok at best with this, and you'll get no cat stuff their. The most time taken is googling pictures to put into my flashcard program, very little is given that you don't have to find

I took Matlock's online class after reading on hear about how amazing she was. That may hold true for in person classes, but it felt like her online class was an afterthought. She ordered the wrong book, changes assignments, schedule, with little heads up. Know what you're getting into if you do this class online. Difficult class made harder here.

Matlock goes way too fast during the lectures. So hard to take notes especially when you can't view the powerpoints after lecture. She did a terrible job preparing you for the test. And there were always weird and abstract questions on exams that you had no idea what they were asking about.

Comment:

As a person, Dr. Matlock is very nice and caring. She's reasonable when there are problems or questions. She had trouble being organized, though, and that made the class unnecessarily difficult. She would add things to the exams that we hadn't covered yet, post due dates that were six months prior, and go a month without communicating with us.

She said the extra credit was optional. Then put questions on the midterm involving previous extra credit; these questions were for credit on the midterm. Extra credit should mean just extra credit. Also if teaching the subject means writing all the notes on the board and not explaining further or saying anything, then she is the professor for you.

Matlock is so good at what she does. She makes sure you know the vital information and also cares about teaching you real world skills instead of just thinking that her subject is the only thing you should focus your entire life on. Makes anatomy a good class to be in.

I'm horrible at Biology, and Science in general. My opinion: best Biology teacher for someone who's horrible at Biology and Science in general. There's only so much luck you can have in a college course, but Matlock does a wonderful job with lectures and keeping people engaged. Also, you'll almost always get out early.

Be prepared to take speed notes! She's a fast talker and writes sloppy! PAY ATTENTION TO HER LIKES AND DISLIKES!! Good extra credit questions on tests! I am avoiding this professor in the future as I have found numerous things in Biology that didn't quite jive!

Best biology teacher I have ever had! Took her for 209/209L and she's great at relating material to everyday life, making it easier to learn and understand. Even though she's a great teacher, the subject is hard; you have to put the work in after class. Use her powerpoints to follow up lectures.

I took Matlock for 209 & 209L and it was the BEST decision ever. She is hilarious, brilliant, and excellent at explaining difficult material. She's an anatomy goddess and offers so much extra credit. If you have the opportunity to take her for A&P, DO IT.

Matlock is a FANTASTIC professor! She doesn't teach from a textbook, so going to class is definitely a good idea. She lectures in a way that makes the material applicable in life and it's not hard to pay attention at all.

Worst Professor I've had. So scatter brained. Gives exams on powerpoints she doesn't go over. Was really excited for this class and ended up hating her. Would very seriously not ever take her.
