When she pretended to be enthusiastic, she was bearable, but beware of her many mood swings. She can be incredibly condescending to her students. The lectures are dull and unengaging. She spends entire lectures asking the class what they do when they get stuck on problems and then writes it on the board. Beware: you present a lot in this class.

Im a 4th yr math student and she definitely ranks in my top 2. She was great! I would go to office hours and not even talk math for the fist 10 mins. An she is always on cloud nine at 9 am in the morning. For a course that was mainly focused on prject research, there is no one else I would have taken it with.

Taking graph theory with her was a real treat. Lectures are given at a manageable pace giving you time to write everything down and process. She has a great sense of humour is and approachable. The combination of great subject matter and a good prof made this one of my favourite math classes to date.

Best professor I have ever had at UBC ever. She is extraordinarily intelligent, and helpful. Not only will she spend the time to help out on projects, she will take time in her schedule to meet with you outside of office hours just to talk about the project, not just send it in an email. INCREDIBLE. Love her.

Steph is a very engaging professor. She explains that course material clearly and will always provide applicable examples. Students know clearly what to expect on exams so there are no surprises. Homework may be a little time consuming but it prepares you for tests. Steph is very easy to approach and makes you feel welcomed. She is amazing!

Good prof. Builds our intuition throughout the course with lots of inclass proofs. Very fast returning hw & exams, and answers our questions next day if she doesn't know it on the spot. Very fair marking. Well-dressed, but always wears all black...

I thought overall she is a good teacher. However in her notes she lacks clarity and her teaching style is basically to write non stop for 1.5 hours. Very easy midterm, very hard final. You decide

The material was pretty difficult, but the exam was way too easy. At least she was quick to hand back homework, running up and down the aisle etc.
