Comment:
Although it is obvious that Professor Hall knows and is interested in History, he is very unclear about what he wants in papers, especially due dates. He rambles a lot, and repeatedly asks if there are questions, and won't move on until someone asks a question. This class seemed generally pointless, and we didn't really discuss the homework.

one of the worst professors i've had. none of his prompts are clear, classes are a complete waste of time, and he's not helpful at all when you ask him questions and is not clear what he's looking for. i recommend avoiding him and the headaches he causes at all costs.

Genuinely caring, nice guy. People who can't handle his HIS398 class should not be majoring in the subject; it is not that difficult. A book review, two short group essays and a final paper on two books by a historian. He is quirky and pretty funny, and most certainly is a knowledgeable guy.

Worst teacher I have ever had; I didn't learn anything I didn't already know. He says he is willing to help, but he just rambles and doesn't really give you any suggestions on how to make your work better. He is also obviously bitter that he isn't a popular historian.

The class was difficult, but Professor Hall is always willing to help. I can tell that he really wants his students to walk away with information that will be relevant so while it may not be easy, you will end the class with stronger abilities.

He seems to be a nice guy who knows his stuff, but his lectures were terribly boring and i had no interest in the class by the end of the second week. He also had a lot of trouble with assignments, they were always confusing.

Prof Hall is fairly nice but overall not a good teacher. He doesn't explain assignments well and rambles in class instead of teaching. The notes barely prepare you for the midterms. I ended up googling the answers the night before. Lots of work, more than a typical hist 152 class. Don't buy the books, you never use them.

Disregard all the negative comments on this professor. He is very helpful if you ask. American History is more than facts- that is the overall point of this course. IF you can't think about the classes you take avoid this one, because thinking is mandatory.

Prof.Hall is very VERY interested and knowledgable in AFAM history. He loves what he is doing and tries to make sure that students get something out of class as well as enjoy it. But, he expects ALOT out of his students and constantly seeks to challenge them academically. Alot of CRITICAL thinking, writing , and reading. GREAT CLASS!

Terrible professor with absolutely no interest in the students. No help on papers that were submitted for review. A lot of work for a GEC. Three papers, one of which is a critique on a book for its historical source. Our class ended on the Civil Rights Movement because he spent so much time rambling. Worthless class, worthless professor.

Dr. Hall is a very intelligent man, however he does not explain the coursework well. Lectures are very boring and dry with no use of modern technology, but he gives out the copy of the midterm before the exam. It's and easy B.

Avoid avoid avoid. Far too much work, and though he allowed you to submit early drafts of papers for review, rarely offered any real help.

Professor Hall is the nicest man you will ever meet. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to hear what he is saying even when you sit in the front row. He has no visual notes, so you just have to pick and choose what you think is important. He hands the midterm and final to you on a silver platter. Fill out the answers and study ahead of time!!

He is a sweet guy, but lectures are boring. It is realy easy though if you write out the essay answeres the day befpre the midterm and memorize them, that's what I did and I got an A-.

Horrible lectures...hard to understand, he mumbles a lot and repeats himself very often. The class is rather easy, but with attendence taken in lecture - it will be the longest 48 minutes of your college career.

He is nice and very knowledgable of the material - but it is so hard to follow him because he is quiet and trails off. Tears papers apart, don't expect a good grade unless it's a really good paper.
