Comment:

Kilpatrick was awesome. He was a great professor and I wish I could take him again. The textbook was required, but I did not buy one and it was not really neccessary. The homework assignments he gave had the option to type in an online resource if you used it, and I did that instead of buying the book. He was really cool.

hmm tbh genetic is my easist course in this semester, he is a good teacher that explain the details and ppt, though sometimes you may find out it is kinds boring in class. besides, he gave a lot of extra credits and is generous about grading papers. Of course if you work on it getting A is not hard.

He makes his open ended extremely long, so it is impossible to check your answers. You're never able to tell if you make dumb mistakes. Also, half the material on the open ended questions are not what we talk about in class, so we're clueless on the exams. He makes homework 50% of the grade, and only offers homework once a month, maximum

Dr. Kilpatrick is a very real and genuine person. I took him for Bio1 and I would 5/5 recommend anyone to take him. He gives a lot of extra credit (sometimes for even just showing up to class). His grading criteria is very black and white and as long as you do the homework and study for the exams, you'll be fine! I recommend reading before class

Really nice guy and knows the material well. The lectures aren't great and the only thing I really remembered were the random fun facts he threw in that weren't on the exams. Tests are tricky since the lecture notes aren't always clear but its an easy A since you get bonus for showing up on days that a lot of people skip.

Exams are extremely hard no matter how much you study. Lectures are extremely boring. He gives you a bunch of random "fun facts" in his lectures, and you never know if they're going to be on the exam or not. He teaches straightforward information, then gives you homework and exams on applied information. He's just a bad professor.

best bio teacher here! got 6% percent in bonus for doing online quizzes and attending library sessions. Tests arent difficult if you do the study guides he gives all around great guy and class, definitely take him!

He is a good teacher. Pretty much the easiest out of all the Bio teachers. He is pretty funny and will sometimes give random extra credit. There is an opportunity for 10 bonus points at the end of the year. The book is a very good resource and is very useful to understanding the class and doing well.

When I first came to UPJ I had him for Biology 1. Since then I've had two other classes with him. Genetics and Biostats. If I could I would have him teach me every class. Will help you if you ask! He is my advisor now as well. All around great guy!

awful teacher. extremely boring and his powerpoints are nothing but pictures with little to no text. he will occasionally write things on the board in usually illegible handwriting. He is extremely cocky to the point where its just annoying. Test are hard and difficult to finish in time. From what i hear he used to be a good prof. but he changed.

He was very clear in his lectures. The homework he gave was worth little but fairly easy to complete. His tests were built from his class lectures. Also, the tests were all multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank. He gave generous amounts of bonus (sometimes just for attending class). He uses Powerpoint for his lectures and posts them online.

Genetics was awesome. Prof works from powerpoint. Use book if do not understand class material. Prof makes class interesting and helps students understand anything not clear. Exam material is from notes. Uses outside of class assignments, helping students understand the material. A+ class and prof. Recommend to anyone! Will take for future classes.

Taken prof for both Bio 1 and 2. Very clear with material, worked from powerpoint. Print out class slides, take notes in class, and make an effort to study the notes and you will be rewarded. Loved the class. Interesting. Prof is willing to help all students. Recommend the prof for any of his classes. Plan on taking him as much as possible. Great!

I've had Kilpatrick for 3 classes and I very highly recommend him. He has found a very solid formula for teaching, and has a genuine interest in his students, and a clear passion for the natural sciences. He suppresses that passion just enough so that he doesn't alienate his students. Show up take an interest in the lectures. You wont regret it.
