Hes a good professor but spent the semester I took with him talking about the government and how they are basically watching us. I took 1010 with him and it was a pass or fail class. I passed but he kind of is a tough grader. He would give us what our grades would be if it wasnt pass or fail.

Comment:

Stephen McHugh is a good professor. He walks in, shows us videos and asks us for our thoughts on things. Very nice, pretty funny guy. Youll have to read for a lot of the semester so make sure you make time for the readings because he usually gives a quiz question at the next class meeting. Good luck.

I attended every session, asked questions and I really tried. I got out of this class by the skin of my teeth. This man would write question marks on the papers I'd give him and he never really explained himself. I did well on one assignment and that was probably my saving grace. If you're an amaze writer, take him, otherwise you'll fail

Made going to class enjoyable. However, he is a harsh grader. I've received higher grades in higher level English courses compared to his Intro. If you're not serious about writing you could probably find an easier professor. If you like writing, he's great! He really challenges you and gives you chances to revise your essays for a few more points.

Man he didn't give anyone an a. I love reading and writing he wasn't a bad teacher but he graded harshly. go to every classdo all the assignments and u might get a b but never an a. he messed up my 4.0

Sorta strange prof. but very nice. Literally takes up the whole hour to go over word for word through a piece you're currently reading. Lots of prompt responses and writing. Didn't go to class that much but still got a S (satisfactory). Pass or fail class. Highly recommend taking this class. Easy A!

He is kind of weird but still a good teacher. There are a lot of reading assignments and prompt responses. Definetely don't take this class if you don't have time to do the readings. If you do everything he tells you to do there is no way you can fail this class.

Mr.McHugh's enthusiasm is very infectious and made fun of uninteresting reading during class discussions. Attendance is important because of free-writing assignments, but he's very understanding. Do your prompt responses and out-of-class papers, and you should have no problems passing this class. Gives homework but doesn't like to. Great teacher.

He's funny. The first days of class, he acts like a tough teacher. Then, once a bunch of people drop, he's the coolest person ever. Great teacher. Very knowledgable. Easy to understand. (No scary accent!)He didnt want to give us papers & complained they were mandatory. He cut down on the words cause he didnt feel like grading them! I recommend!

McHugh is a pretty interesting teacher. The readings aren't all that great, but the prompts and the papers aren't too bad. He's not too hard at grading, just make sure you come to class so you don't miss the free writes! I think he's passionate about teaching and really cares for his students to do well. I'm really glad I took 1020 with him!

This is a rather easy class but then again it should be at 1010. He likes to engage the whole class in what he is talking about. Sometimes when he doesn't feel like talking about what he had planned he will let the class out. The papers are not too bad either becuase you have the ability to choose between a couple of prompts.
